I do not own a grinder, therefore I cannot grind my own coffee beans. My parents grind their own and you can definitely tell that their coffee tastes more fresh than the pre-ground beans. Maybe someday I will buy a coffee grinder but for now I'm satisfied with just buying ground beans for my coffee pot.

I drink a cup of coffee in the morning, but I don't grind coffee beans on my own. I just buy instant coffee. It is more practical and I also like it. Maybe just a heavy addict coffee will do that (grind coffee beans themselves).

Best wishes,

I wish I could grind my own coffee beans but I can't. The reason is, there are many things that i want to prioritized rather than grinding coffee. Coffee is very much available in almost every store.

The preparation of this coffee is quite simple rather than grinding and preparing some coffee beans.

But for those people who want a good aroma for coffee, it is better to grind you own coffee beans. The fact is that you can guarantee with its freshness and has no chemical added. That is good for the health.

Maybe, if I have the time and opportunity to grind my own coffee beans ,I will going to try it. But as of now, I prefer to have an instant coffee bought from the store.

I do both. It is more convenient to buy pre-ground coffee, however occasionally I buy the beans and grind them when I need them. Grinding just before brewing will give you more of the oil of the bean, and hence more flavour. Pre-ground coffee loses a lot of the oil as after grinding, much more of the bean in in contact with air.

There are tips for preserving flavour, one of which is if you buy pre-ground, buy small packs as opposed to large ones. The repeat opening and closing of packs or bags over a long period of time increases the loss of the oils, and the grounds become drier. You can apply the same logic to beans, though the rate of drying is lower.

Most baristas I have spoken to will only use small bags (max 1kg or 2 pounds) as anything larger takes them too long to use, and the beans dry out. Many will throw out any beans not used within seven days of the bag being opened.

Happy brewing!
