Any help with her hair?

Hello MyLotters=) My 13 year old inherited her fathers wacky super curly, yet beautiful hair. She HATES it!!! She can never put her hair down because when it dries, it gets huge and frizzy, no matter how much haircare product she puts in it. when she pulls it up, she complains that her forehead is too big. Every time we go into Sally's Beauty Supply and ask for help, they always tell her to try different stuff, and nothing works. She already tried mousse, and surprisingly, no work. You see, when we Google how to manage curly hair, we find (no mean to be derogatory)instructions by white people on how they fix curly hair made from rollers. You cannot get my daughter's type of hair from rollers. She has too many tiny curls. It looks really pretty when she wets it and drys it damp, but after that, there is just a bush. So, any help here? Do you have hair like hers or know someone who does? What haircare products do you recommend? Thanks so much!

Try some ethnic hair care products and some salon deep conditioning treatments. Sally Beauty Supply is great for most things, but you should probably see a professional hair stylist. I have naturally curly hair, but nothing near the level that your daughter has. If her hair is like most curly hair, it's probably way too dry. Also, try some anti-humidity products to see if that is contributing. Make sure that when she brushes her hair she uses a wide tooth comb and not a bristle brush, because using a bristle brush will cause frizz. Discourage her from touching her hair as it dries because this will also cause frizz. For a good website on curly hair, visit naturallycurly.com. They have a quiz that will help you determine your daughter's hair type (from pictures and description) and recommend products based on that. They have some good videos of how to do hair and many tips and tricks for crazy curls.
