Will you be ready to buy an old house for its antique value?

The house may not be in good condition. You will have to spend a lot to make it livable.Just for the sake of the antique value will you go for it?If so,what will be the reason behind your purchase? Is it the artistic sense inside you or a business mind which calculates its value for the age?

I like to buy antique things because I like them. But, I have to think well before buying a house because of my likeness to antique things. I am not rich enough to buy a house now. So, there is least chance of buying an antique house. If I become very rich in future, I will think about buying an antique house for sure because I am fond of antique things.

That is the real spirit and taste for antique things. No doubt, antique things are costly and we may not have that much money to afford right now.But in the future,we can invest in them for the beauty of those days.People of the past, not only spend money but also time patiently to get those artistic works.

No srganesh, I wouldnt. :) First and foremost, I am ignorant of such things. Second thing, I would be terrified of the ghosts who dwell there LOL, third thing financially it doesnt make sense! Unless you know how to recover your monies and interest on them by showing the antique house to others, it doesnt make sense owning one. And if it has to be a house where I live, I would prefer privacy rather than showing to others! Other factors against it - it would need a lot of maintenance, and there would come a time when its antique value becomes nil. Spending for that event doesnt make sense to me.

Sure vandana! We should not buy a house to live in which should be a show piece to the visitors. But I think an antique value house is like having a chance to live with our forefathers.Don't you worry about those ghosts. They will run away if we step into that place. And yes,if it would cost a lot to maintain, then we should have a lot of money.

Nope. I do not have one bit of artistic bone in me so I don't care much about the so-called "antique value". I'd rather buy the ultra-modern home at the same price.

That is your choice.I think we all will go on for such collections, only when all of our basic needs and dreams are fulfilled and we are stuffed with lot of money in excess to spend like that. That is why, this type of collections are owned by millionaires and we,ordinary people remain spectators.

I like old houses, and I think that many of them are beautiful, but I am not sure that I want to buy one myself. There are many things to consider. The house might need a lot of renovation if is old and I am not sure that I could afford that. Another thing is the safety. Many of the really old houses in my country have thatched rooves. I think that thatched rooves are beautiful, but I don't want to live in one, it is too dangerous in case of a fire.

Oh!Old houses in your country are all with thatched roofs? Is Denmark a poor country? If it is so,I can't imagine any art involved in it.But speaking of antique houses should have close relation with the artistic work involved with patience and great taste.rejuvenating an old house like that will cost a lot and don't mind the returns will be great.

Its a no for me. I would not be practical. I like antiques stuff but I will not far as an old house. I find it very creepy. But if the house is in a good condition with a unique artistic design then I might go for a second look and decide whether or not to pursue.

Even if you have to spend a little bit to make it livable,it will hold much value than that.An antique building is a prestige among the rich class. They were designed to every inch in the past and it have all the best things only to take part of the building. You might heard of people saying,Burma teak for wooden works,Belgium glasses for mirros and windows,etc...

i am really not into things which are antique and that includes old houses. i believe that spirits of the persons who used to live there still continues to inhabit the place. and thinking of that gives me the creeps!lol =)

brymel25!I think your fear about the old spirits is just another superstition that haunts so many people.Antique places are just appreciated for the art work involved then. We,in our hurry don't give much importance to build artistically. So,if you have a chance to see an old building, just have an eye to see its beauty.
