I did. I would spend hours trying to get a word that scaped me. I knew most of the lyrics of my youth´s music by heart and I sang it at the top of my lungs while at the shower. My mom was horrified of course and my showers were a lot longer than they are now
.
Last weekend I was invited out of town by a cousin my age. He has the most wonderful DVDs and we listened to them while he drove. One of them started by Jambalaya, with Brenda Lee´s awesome voice. When I reached home, I got the lyrics again at the web (2 clicks instead of hours)but I need a friend from Lousianna to help me with a verse. Any girl or boy here from the 60´s?
I need to know what this is. I discovered they were all good things to eat, but as I like to cook I´d like to know more.
Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and file' gumbo
Take care everyone!

Internet is the best, Jo. I did not get much response from mylot, so I went to search for it. I found the recipes, a full color picture of everything and even the story of each dish. In the ol´ days they even used alligator from the bayou for meat! I´m glad the dish has changed some. I´m thinking of doing a New Orleans theme meal when I get the "workers" to paint my living and dining room. I doubt that I will be able to paint but I´ll be the cook. I have plenty of hands between my family and my friends. But it will have to be after my shoulder surgery, my post surgery therapy and some nice vacations I´ll have in the south of Chile, near my sister´s home. I´ll go with my cousin, his cousin from his other side of the family (the girl tha is hairdresser) and my aunt. So I will not drive and we´ll have lot´s of fun. There´s a temperate swimming pool at the apartments and hotsprings nearby.

By the way, I´ve been listening to Brenda Lee all day and singing with her. It´s part of the good things of living alone.
