How to take care of shitzu?  

Shitzu's can be the absolute greatest dogs! I had one for 12 years. He was my best friend, my kid, my family. The thing with that breed of dog though is the grooming. If you decide to let their hair grow long, you've GOT to brush it every day! No way around it. I used to take mine about once a month and get him groomed. They cut his hair in what was called a "puppy cut". Short, but not too short. It made it manageable. If you don't, it just becomes a bunch of knots! He was kinda crazy about that kinda stuff too. He hated getting his hair done but he absolutely would not let me brush him! They are beautiful dogs but high maintenance. No way around it. If you can't groom them yourself, take them to a groomer. I used to take mine to a grooming school for about $15 instead of a professional groomer that cost $65 - $100. More importantly, just love them and they'll love you right back!

Shih tzus are cute and beautiful toy dogs... I have 2 shih tzus 1 girl named tascha she's a princess type and I have male shih tzu as well his name is Chuck and he's a midsize.. Tascha is almost 2 years old and my Chuck is almost a year now... I really take good care of them specially their hairs cause it's really difficult to fix their hair specially when it becomes long. So what I was doing was every after 2 days I make sure that I bathe them but before I bathe them, I comb their hair first and then I'll bathe them, After that I dry them with towel and then blow dry them. after that, I tie their hairs for them to see.. And I make sure that once a month I bring them to a grooming salon... 2 years is the ideal age for them to get that very long hair.. So good luck to your grooming...
