| Has anyone else done this diet? How did it work for you? Were you able to eat totally organic? I am going to start it for the 3rd time tomorrow and wonder how others have overcome the obstacles of the first month on this diet. I am not just looking to lose weight necessarily - I am doing this for my health, and one way to decrease the daily pain and discomfort, trouble sleeping, etc. is to lose some weight. I already have some of the supplements recommended in the book, and will be ordering more to get me through this first month. I really believe that if I can make it through the first four weeks of the detox process and then by some miracle find a cheap way to buy the recommended breads for the maintenance part, I will feel much healthier. My husband will also be changing the way he eats as he has daily pains and trouble sleeping also. Having someone else going through the same things has got to help a lot. | | Hi Ramos7881 Although I haven't heard of the Maker's Diet before it sounds like something I wouldn't be able to stick to for a very long period of time. I don't believe in diets they just don't work for me I believe in cutting back on how much of what I eat I cut way back on fast food I just rarely eat it anymore, I gave up soda,and most deserts such as cookies cakes, pies ect.. I do eat the Kashi snack bars ,drink plenty of water and oc course exercise (you can't leave that out) I also cut back on fried food actually I don't fry food at home I bake ,broil or boil and also roast or grill, I cut back on white products such as white bread refined sugars and eat more fruit and vegetables. Since this was a choice that my husand and I made its easier to stick to because we still eat the foods we like we just don't eat as much of it and we also prepare it differently. Although I love fruits vegetables, whole grains,nuts seeds ect.. I also like chicken, fish, and turkey so we kinda balance it out so we don't get tired of eating the same thing al the time . Have you tried whole wheat pasta its really good and a lot better for you than the white pasta the same thing goes for the breads 100%whole wheat bread is better than the white I believe for a lot of average people out there there can be few pleasures in life eating is one of the great pleasures we have so we have to make sure that we will actually LIKE what we eat and are satisfied with the portions in order to stay on whatever diet we choose to put ourselves on | | | | | | |

| | What you are describing is pretty much what the Maker's Diet is. I am not talking about a fad diet here, I am talking about diet as in the foods we take in. I am a firm believer that what you put in your body is in direct correlation with how you feel - I mean, if you have a cold, don't take vitamin C in pill form - eat citrus fruits! Eat different kinds of leafy greens for the antioxidants they give you that science hasn't even discovered yet! Because of health issues, it is necessary that I drastically change my diet (the way I eat) with regards to what I am consuming. I am encouraged by the fact that you said you and your husband make these choices together. I think it is that extra support that will allow me to change my evil eating habits and start feeling healthier - I really believe that changing my diet will solve most, if not all, of my and my husband's physical ailments at this time as we are fairly young and it is unlikely that irreversible damage has been done at this point. | | | |

| | Well, I do not plan to eliminate meat from my diet. I have avoided pork for some time now, but plan to continue eating beef and chicken. I am just going to incorporate free range, organic into my diet as often as possible. Unfortunately (I think), I am on a budget so I really don't think it would be realistic to plan on eating organic frequently. | | | |

| | i never read it . I really like to know all kind of diets . I believe in diet, balanced diet and exercise diets are not miracles too, u need move u to be healthy and of course remembe our veggies are not really good now, like u said organic is the best but we dont know if they are organic or just sell to us saying is organic . | | | | | | |

| | You are right about that. I am planning to talk to some people and find out where the local farmer's market is - I have heard that you can sometime find organic food there. I would feel much more comfortable doing that. The only other alternative I can see at the moment is that I start my own organic garden, but I actually have a black thumb instead of a green one :( | | | |
