| American Relief in Haiti for public image or from the heart?  | | | |  America has taken the lead in promoting/distributing aid and money to people in Haiti. Is this a public ploy to put America back in good light with the rest of the world? I'm not talking about charities and money sent by people, just the governments in your face approach to helping. Either way its helping people in need. This is just what you think the US motive is.

| |  I think a great deal of it is from the heart. Even with all the greed and deceit in this world, there are still some good people. However, I would be naive not to think that there are some who are doing it to restore public image. Whether it be for themselves or the country in agenda, for all the good people out there, there is a lot of self serving people in this world. Sad, but it is ultimately and unfortunately true.

The government uses less then .1% of its total budget on foreign aid. But use approx 5% letting people know they help foreign aid on a large scale.
