So Taylor Swift, at 20, just broke Alanis' record of being the youngest grammy award winner yesterday. Alanis got hers when she was 21.
I believe that Taylor swift could really be talented and she knows her stuff. Her songs appeal mostly to teens while Alanis has more of a young adult following. Pretty impressive for Alanis since she was just a year older than Taylor Swift back then.
Some say that Alanis is a better songwriter than Taylor .(They do write their own songs right?)
So what do you think? Alanis or Taylor. Who's got the talent on songwriting? If it were a choice between the two of them for a grammy award, who would you pick?
On a side note...What happened to Alanis, anyway?

| |  i used to listen country music but i never thought of liking taylor swift's music. i have never been a fan of alanis even though i know her songs well..
i am more particular with carrie underwood. i think she is the number one female country singer at her generation. i think she is a superstar.
next to carrie is kellie pickler.

| |  I don't really listen to US music anymore these days, however, Taylor Swifts songs always attracted me to listen to it until the end. It has a very unique vibe and of course at first she always reminded me of Alanis Morisette and now, she's received a grammy, beating Alanis herself. Good job Taylor Swift!

| |  For the record Alanis is still around. I have seen her on talk shows. As for the better writer its hard to pick one over the other. One writes songs that the younger generation relates to more. Where Alanis has always written songs that were more mature for her age. Alanis never seem to act her age at all. She always seem to be a bit more aware of society and the hardships of life. She just seems to be very intelligent since teh beginning of her career.
