With it in the news and current recalls affecting the industry, I am one of those worried owners of a Toyota. I will bring it to the repair shop this weekend but am wondering if any users here have a Toyota as well which they have brought to the shop. Do they charge you for their mistake? Please be specific if you can.

I used to drive a Toyota and my husband still does. He isn't affected by the recall, but his mom is. And no, the don't charge for a repair that is due to a recall.

That is really so sad. Every owner will definitely get worried about their safety. You are doing the best things by having it checked. Honestly, I do not have any idea if they will charge you or not. I sometimes could not help but think why a big company such as Toyota let such a thing happened.

I had a chat with my husband and thought well, it could be the technology that is in the newer cars. I can be wrong here but the system is advance enough, you need to have training in Toyota systems to reset all the lights that comes on especially in times of trouble. You can't just bring it to a local shop who does the daily oil change and spare wheel change. This takes much more.
