a gift for someone turning 60

Could someone suggest a gift for a family friend (male) having his 60th Birthday very soon; and the problem here is we have not yet chosen his gift, rather not yet decided as whatever we think of giving, he seems to already have - so in spite of brainstorming in our family we are at a dead end.We want to gift something unique which he or his wife can & should really use regularly and also find it very useful - as I said he has everything so this one should be unique!!
Any ideas - especially from someone who has had a similar experience of gifting.

You remembering his birthday is probably enough for him. The best gift really depends on what his interests are. Maybe he likes reading books? Or do you know of a passion he stopped pursuing because he didn't have enough time? Maybe he has enough time in his hands now and you could help him with that.

Thanks - great idea. we were both very good tennis players earlier, he gave up for want of time while I gave up due to my leg & hamstring problem - maybe something connected to tennis or membership to a club will help both him & wife, if not tennis at least they can use the club - thanks again for that thought
