Sitting in Connecticut With Kids Waiting for the Snow

I'm a Connecticut resident, and I'm sitting in my home with my sons who have no school, because it was closed today, due to the storm.
So far, there isn't an inch of snow on the ground from a storm that was supposed to start early this morning. As a mother I believe in safety first and would rather have the school close school when reports of a large storm are received. I just wish, that there was better technology for forecasting storms.
With all of the modern inventions you'd think we'd have weather equipment that did a better job, and if you aren't sure what Mother Nature will do, say that in your forecast.
Don't mind the storm missing us, means no shoveling.

Hi, vmenard. I love getting days like this when I was much younger. I could really use a break and having no school due to a storm coming is very fun. I agree with you. There should not be any school when a storm is near approaching. It is best for children to stay home on this type of day. I hope all will be well with you and your family. Take care.

I had to laugh when I saw your subject. I am sitting in Virginia, just south of Washington, D.C. watching the news on the 'Blizzard of 2010, Round 2' and they were showing a live feed from DC. The reporter said he was reporting from Connecticut Avenue, but maybe he should just call it Connecticut since it looked more like the state instead of the nation's capital.
LOL. I guess obviously not, since you don't even have one inch yet, and we have MUCH more than that. Would you believe our federal government is CLOSED for the 3rd day in a row?! (Hmm... who's running the country?)
The technology for forecasting weather is so much better than it was 10... even 5 years ago. The predictions have been right on here -- even down to the inch. I have been amazed (and dismayed at times, too) by how accurate they have been.
So hang tight, vmenard, and keep the shovel handy. Sending some snow your way.
