Unladylike...?  

This is a good question. I remember one time I accidentally burped in front of my Mom. She looked horrified and said, "How unlady like!" It was an accident and I was thinking, Mom... girls burp too! But, she is from a different time. I think it is an old-fashioned term now. I think ladies/women should be able to act as they please. Of course, I think it is important to use manners and have good morals and values. But, I think it is important for both sexes! I don't think women should be held to any different standards than men.

it show how much things have changed, in the last 100 yrs and not even that. how ladies have gone from, being good and proper to working right beside the men in all wraps of life, and vise veresa for the men. but i think there are times when ladies do need to act lady like, like when at an important event, when round older people, who were brought up that females were ladies.
what about men being gents? i had a tyre blow out on me a few years ago, and an older guy i knew stopped, and changed the tyre for me. he insisted on it, not letting me help. i felt useless cause i normally end up telling, my partner and even my boss to go away. only thing i'll get them to do it check the nuts are tight enough.

Hello, vjenkins. What an interesting question. Here's my take on it - I'm not saying it's right, it's just how I see it. As far as gender goes, I am a woman, because I'm too old to be a girl.

When it comes to attitude, though, I consider myself to be a lady. I'm very feminine, and I try to behave in a feminine way. I like to have doors opened for me, and I like to have a man help me out of my coat and into my seat.

I don't want to compete with men, and I don't want to act in a masculine fashion. While I enjoy a rude joke and a good drinking session along with many other people, I hope I always act like a lady in company.

I do have one very unladylike trait, however - I fart a lot, and they're absolutely dreadful.
