Wedding ring...Wear or not to Wear?  

I wore my wedding band all of the time up until a couple of years ago when I had a serious car accident. When they took me to the hospital they took it off and placed it with my belongings and now I can not get it back on due to the fact that I crushed part of the knuckles on my left hand. I would like to go get it resized so that it fits comfortable and then I will go back to wearing it again.

My hubby is the same way. He had to have hip surgery so when they had him take his off it will now not go back on either. Guess we should go look a new rings this year for our anniversay, since it is coming up pretty soon.

its weird, my mum always wore her ring- even though i think it's too small/tight for her. My step-dad always makes some excuse as to why he isn't wearing it. I think that did annoy my mum tho she didn't say anything. Now they have a silent mutual agreement to wear it Sometimes. Lol idk

I think if the couple has the respect to the relation then all should the wedding ring after marriage. It is the symbol of love a faith and we all need to give proper respect for it.

Yeah, you have to wear it all the time. I asked my wife why, she just gave me a threatening stare. She said I should only take it off when I wash the dishes and do the laundry. Women!

not every couple has wedding rings.
They are a nice symbolic gesture, yes, but one's love, loyalty, and devotion are not defined by a ring or a paper that they sign. Their relationship is defined between the two of them and the two of them alone.

When I marry, I don't want a wedding ring. I don't need a visual reminder of his love, and it's not really anyone else's business if I am married. My hands swell often, quite severely, and a ring could just end up stuck there or having to be removed. I see people all the time who outgrew their wedding rings and bands 5 sizes ago and wonder how bad it hurts to have it there, and how much it would suck if something bad happened and it got smashed. Although most jobs don't require a person to remove their wedding bands, in some occupations it could be hazardous to wear them.

If someone defines their relationship primarily or solely in wearing a wedding ring, as I know some do... someone has issues in my opinion.

i wear mine all the time, i never take it off from my hands although my husband doesn't really require me to do it. same with him, he only take it off when he does the laundry,lol!he helps me doing it though. i just believe that it is a sign that i am already married and the importance of this band is as important as our marriage is.

My husband and I have wore our rings since the day we got married and we have never taken them off. And hopefully we never will!!

I just hope whoever that guy is, he is very lucky to have you as his partner in life. Of course when you are married, it means you are willing to bind yourself to him. The person you love the most, and wearing the ring that binds you will always remind you as you are being loved and you are also loving.
I am a type of person who doesn't like jewelry that much. It makes me feel uncomfortable having them, I just don't know why. If ever I get the chance to be married, I will wear my wedding ring, but I can't promise I can wear that every minute of my life. That's just a thought. Who knows, I may be of different point of views the next time I get married.
