Is Valentines Day only for Lovers?

Since today, February 14, is a Valentines Day. A lot of lovers celebrating it. Lovers such as husband & wife, such as boyfriend & girlfriend, and those who has a mutual understanding to each other.
Is it really just for them? Is Valentines day is just for lovers?

Hi! yes, i think it is only for lovers, because it is the day of the people in love, so that's why only they celebrate on that special or maybe not so much holiday

Growing up, it was always a day when we celebrates with friends and family, and gave cards to everyone. The only difference is that if we had lovers, the card for them had a romantic message on it.

Although originally it was meant to be only for those in love it has not gone beyond that inasmuch as everyone wishes everyone a happy Valentine's day. My profile Avatar wishes everyone
