Did your plans go   

Yes, they did. We made plans to go to dinner with friends of ours and everything went as planned. It was a long time coming as we had planned to do the same thing before but it just worked out that Valentine's Day made it even more special when it did finally happen.
Sorry that your plans didn't happen.

We went on a horse drawn carriage a few months ago before Christmas. The kids went too. It was nice.

As for our Valentine's Day plans... well, we didn't plan to go out for the holiday. We went out because we got our tax refunds, and because my mom wanted to take the kids for the day on Saturday. So we planned to go to dinner at Red Lobster, then go to the mall, and perhaps see a movie.

We decided to go to Red Lobster early to beat the dinner rush. We got there at 3:30, but the place was already packed, obviously everyone had the same idea as us. We waited about an hour to be seated, though I didn't mind that part. What did frustrate me was that our waitress was a bit rude.. she kept reaching over our food to take away dirty dishes and cups, I hate that. Also they changed their menu and one of my favorite items wasn't on the menu anymore. I was practically devestated because I'd thought about it all week! We almost left when I found out they didn't have it anymore.

After the restaurant we went to the mall and I finally brought my ring in to get resized. In the process we finally completed my wedding set.. after nearly 7 years of marriage! I've only had an engagement ring all this time. So I got a wrap to go with my engagement ring, and an anniversary band to complete the set. I've lost so much weight I was able to wear the anniversary band out of the store, but the wrap needed to go up a size, and my engagement ring needs to go down 2 whole sizes! Well the lady wrapped my band anyways and told hubby to give it to me on Sunday, but we went around the corner and unwrapped it and he got down on his knee to propose all over again.. I was embarassed!

After that we went to see The Blind Side. The theater was packed, and we got there after the previews started so the only seats left were front row. Another disappointment. We still really enjoyed the movie, even though we had neck pains the rest of the night.

We spent all day Sunday shopping around for things we've been needing to buy. He replaced the X Box we had to sell over the summer, I got a new MP3 player, the kids all got new video games, and I bought a whole bunch of clothes.. mostly used but a few brand new as well. I got a new winter coat from JC Penney, on sale for $30! My old one was so big I could wrap it around me twice, lol.

Sounds like a wonderful day anyway! My hubby didn't do anything for me. He never does, so I wasn't dissapointed.

Hello ersmommy1. Sorry to hear that you had a bad weather that day. Well for me, it all went according to plan. And the funny thing was I think I got more than the fun that I expect to get. My friends and I together with my love went to a Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. We all had lunch together and then went to the fiesta. We saw exhibits, shopping booths, paragliding exhibition, sky diving exhibition, kite flying and different activities inside the venue. It was a 3 day event and the last day fell last Feb 14. The main event of that night was the Valentine’s Day Hot Air Balloon Night Glow. Hot air balloons are lovely when they glow in the dark; they came in different shapes and colors. Then we experienced the Valentine’s Day Fireworks as the finale of the event. We all enjoyed that day.

My hubby was more interested in the Daytona 500 than v-day. Wich is ok because we don't have the money to spare to do anything special right now. But him making dinner for the family is good enough. We'll see about things when our anniversary rolls around though ;0)

At first I could not make connection about your horse riding experience with bed:) I hope that the snow did not deter you from having a wonderful time with your family. and your husband. I think its not what you do that counts but how you do it. I believe in quality time, and that does not depend whether you have went horse riding or staying in bed with kids.
