| | Hi, it depends on what features you want. When my laptop died I waited untill Sep when the kids go back to school to shop around. I found Walmart in the USA to have the best deals. I picked up a Toshiba Satellite for $ 299. You may want to consider this. Good Luck !! | | | | | | |

| | Do not buy the used one, guys does not know what he is talking about. Used laptop is going to have bad battery. New battery cost good money, so what's the point buying an old one. You can get Acer for good money. When you are choosing laptop first thing to ask yourself would be "What am I going to use it for?" Look for big hard drive 160+gb. 2+gb of ram. Good battery life. Screen size. | | | | | | |

| | common error in buying a computer or laptop would be deciding on a model before laying out what it's gonna be used for. I admit to committing this same mistake since I easily drool over new products. But now that everything needs to be managed right I've started thinking this over. You'll get a lot of savings if you establish what your current load will need. For example if you're using it for games then you should look for laptops with good graphics cards and nice sounds. But if you're using it for office applications and basic applications and Internet surfing , you'll find out that a netbook is way cheaper. Video editing will have to have bigger RAM and better graphic cards. Bottom line is, it will be a waste to buy something that has features that you wouldn't actually use. Better to settle for much cheaper and simpler ones. | | | | | | |

| | I'm using toshiba portege with Core2duo and 3 GB ram (I'm also a gamer myself). But bought that one three years ago and it's still sunning smoothly. Very light too. If you want light laptops I think the best are from Fujitsu although their a little pricey. Good bang for the buck with great graphics are from Sony. At least that's what my dad is using and I'm drooling over it. Wishing that my dad would buy a new one and give that to me. | | | |
