Born Again or Just a Good Person?  

I know some of you have seen this before.

I saw my old apt. manager today and thought about how when I first moved in, she was always saying "God Bless You", mentioning how being born-again got her off drugs and making a big deal about having to go to church (instead of tend to her duties of keeping up the premises). In less than two yrs., she was dropping all kinds of F-bombs and having these fall-outs for all to see. Then when her stint ended (she got a gig in real estate), she was back to blessing folks.

When I used to attend church, I would see different family members go before the pulpit in tears and after everyone in church hugged them, they would renounce every vice (alcohol, profanity, loose partners, etc) publicly. Then after a year or two (maybe less), they would slowly slip and have an excuse ('Just one time, it won't hurt anything' or 'God will forgive me.')

Now, I say why go through all the drama of quoting scriptures and get out there and help people without a lot of fuss. Especially in these times when I lot of people are both mentally and monetarily impoverished.
