Have you bought new appliances? What brand would you recommend to others?

We use to only buy Whirlpool but then started buying other brands. Now I need a new washer and am thinking that I would like to go back to Whirlpool. We have a Samsung refrigerator and the ice maker has broken all apart and fallen out. Our refrig is only 5 years old!!!!
