Reform and Open: the Upturn of China Started by the Old Man Named Deng Xiaoping  

People sometimes says the old people are conservative.It is simply not true.
When China was restrained by planned economy and no private entity was allowed,let alone foreign investment,people were eager to join a state-own industry and work for a whole life.At that time,there is no such thing as rich or poor.The only heroic images are devoted workers,farmers,and even teachers were dispised as reactionists.
People had been actually used to this form as if it were naturally good for economic growth untill a sudden announcement were made after a central meeting in the end of 1978.
I was not borned at that time.I heard the story from my parents,my teacher and learned it from books.I started to admire Deng Xiaoping as many Chinese people call him Xiaoping or Grandpa Xiaoping,after his death.He is a real politician,but he used his political power against darkness.He intended to pulled China out of dead water,knowing that market economy and the power of competition is necessary for economic soar.
