A modern myth: a feint dissonance in the realms of cause and reason, a riddle

He walked alone in the woods that night, unprepared for the storm approaching he began to loose hope and despair. At this moment reality cleaves asunder: one moment in time, two possible futures. He clears the leaves beneath a tree and finding seven stones lying there rejoices, he tries seven houses before he is welcomed as a guest. Alternatively, he tries seven houses and more to no avail.
The stones, naturally cause nothing.

I must say, though, your use of feint and dissonance together is a little confusing. Feint is a noun or can be used as a verb. In this context though, it appears to be referring to the dissonance, and therefore is being used as an adjective, which it isn't.
I think you mean a conundrum, an enigma. It is a deceptive conflict, which suggests its no conflict at all!
A disagreement which is deceptive? Therefore, is no contradiction?

Is it just me or others can't make sense of this too? LOL! Oh boy! this is just too deep for me. What came to my mind while reading this was huh?...huh?...zzz...LOL! After reading, i also felt so saddened. So much solitude and even loss and loneliness of being outside and not being welcomed.
