It is my second time missing from work yesterday, due to a serious car problem. The day before, the alternator has problem which caused the "check engine light" on. I thought that my car and endure another day, so I can bring it to the shop and have it check thoroughly. Unfortunately, it just dead on me yesterday morning on my way to work. I called the tow truck, and pick it up all the way to the Precision auto care close to my house, and had it fix for half of the day. The problem source is mainly from the Alternator, and I have to replace it. $535 for the total;$230 for the alternator itself, and $240 for the labor. And the diagnostic charge I guess. Pretty expensive isn't it. Currently, I desperately look for another car, because I had spent too much money on fixing this car already. I might need to look for for used one with less problem over time.

Bless your heart, i hope you're able to find another more dependable car very soon. My boyfriends car needs an alternator on it as well. And then yesterday my low beams on my headlights went out. Had to drive all the way home from work on the high beams. I felt so bad and worried about the oncoming traffic all the way home. When it rains it pours! It seems like the need to spend money on fixing things never stops. As I'm writing this the heat and air repair man is outside installing a new air compressor on out heat pump, 425.00 for that. sometimes you just have to shake your head and laugh, either that or scream, whichever works the best, lol. Good luck friend, I know having to miss work and shell out money is hard. I wish you the best.

I felt the same like you. Yesterday, my car was stuck in the middle of the road, and some people didn't know horning at me, even though my emergency light was on. My car is getting old, and I have to accept the fact. I am looking for a used car with dependability. Good luck to you too.

Thanks, at least I have heat now and not having to run it on emergency heat. That makes the light bill go sky high. Doesn't it drive you nuts how people can be so rude. I was in a situation about a year ago with my car. I had my flashers on too and by the time I was able to get the car pulled off the road I was in tears because so many people almost hit me! People need to think what if they are in your place, would they want to be treated that way, I think not. I hope you can find a better car soon so you won't have to miss any more work. I also hope you have some good bosses that understand, that's also important.
