Is it true ? Mobile cameras can diagnose disease.  

I just read this in a PC magazine.If it is true then the people have done a great work in developing the technology.

Many regions of the developing world exist in a strange technological limbo.In South Africa a region hard hit by malaria,tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS- might be able to contact top medical experts and yet have no way to apply their knowledge.
Researches at the university of California at Berkeley are bridging the gap between Cellscope,a microscope that attaches to a camera-equipped cell phone and produces two kinds of imaging,called bright fields and fluorescence microscopy.
Scientists have demonstrated the cellscope's potential in 2 types.They have used white light to image the RBC and the parasite that causes malaria.They have also used LED to identify tuberculosis bacteria.
I don't know much about the terms used.But the technology is developing new ideas.
The tests were conducts using 3.2 MP cell phone.They said it will improved further in 2010.
