A information to online job seekers !  

A friend of mine ran into a job on Craigs list that was almost certainly a scam. Fortunately she isn't easily fooled by such things. What a shame. People should check into things very carefully and not give out personal information unless they are certain that a job is legitimate.

Legitimate jobs online are very difficult to find indeed. I have come across many job postings that made me think twice. For positions that sound just too perfect for me to do and qualify based on my skills, I always forward it to a friend in an email who can get back to me almost right away.

I give only my resume where possible. It has all the pertinent information required for a serious company to get back to me.

I recently received a reply from one that asked me to respond back by email with my name, address, phone number, email address and bank name only. I had already sent them my resume with a cover letter for consideration. There was no need for them to confirm my identity. Furthermore, asking for the name of my bank institution was extremely odd.

I never did reply to that email. The job looked 100% legitimate on Craig's List.

People, I strongly encourage you to VERIFY, VERIFY, VERIFY before applying to a job.

The market out there is very difficult indeed. The United States has an unemployment rate of 20%, which is at highest it's been ever. Look through job openings very carefully because the position you are applying for may be another person out of a job who is simply trying to scam YOU.

Good day. A friend of mine directed me to a real online jobs it is called Odesk. It has a collection of home based jobs, all you have to do is to register on it and bid for jobs. My colleagues do get jobs through bidding; however, I'm just a newbie there and had not that much luck as of yet. You can register there for free. As for me, I'm staying away from any PTC sites.
