Piano! Do You Play the Piano? Did It Take Long to Learn to Play?  

...Hi there universe2o6, That is a great story. I am sure you were thrilled when the piano arrived, like a big birthday present. Your mom was very thoughtful. You will play as you want to oneday, my thought is that you visualize yourself playing. Believe that you will be able to do it. The scales are kind of easy, from there you will be playing chopsticks and Mary had a litle lamb. It is a beautiful instrument, I can't play, but I write songs and the pianist puts the music to the sound that I sing. Weird. But it works. Go and find a patient teacher, you will be playing soon. ...Hi there aditya149, the piano is a beautiful instrument to be able to play and to listen too.I love piano music. I would think you would need to take at least a year of lessons to learn the basics and then another year to perfect your skill in playing. The guitar is another lovely sounding musical instrument. Seems that your family has the genes that give you the musical ability to do many things with a lot if instruments. That is so great. Music lifts the spirits. I do not play any instrument. I did play the trumpet when I was in elementary school, I was in the band, remember marching in my white outfit and white buckskin shoes. My father decided he would not buy me my own trumpet because he thought it was a boy's instrument, so when I went to another school I stopped playing, I think he was just cheap. Sorry dad. "o) I do write songs, with the pianist playing the notes from my singing. I have sung in a group, and I simply love music. Tried to learn the xylophone, but didn't continue. Musicians fascinate me. I am an artist, I paint
abstracts, I can draw a person's picture from a photograph. I have had a few art shows. I write poetry, and short stories. That is neat that you have started to take piano lessons, but not so great that you have a conflict with your job training. You will probably need to wait for a while, after you get finished with the training and the time needed to implement your training, before you can go back to your lessons. But do not give up, since you have started already, you are ahead of the game.
Try to resume your lessons as soon as you can. Take it easy and thanks.

..Hi 6precious102, I never took piano lessons. My two cousins did and they play well, one better than the other. I used to play the trumpet in elementary school. Other than that I can write songs having a pianist put my singing to the notes. We all have different talents, you as well. I love most forms of music, piano music is very beautiful.
