Jay Leno will be returning to The Tonight Show this week and I will be watching. I believe the media and Conan made a mountain out of a molehill. Let's just talk about the facts this whole mess is the fault of NBC. You have to go back 5 years ago when Conan said he wasn't planning on staying with NBC. Rumors were he was going to Fox to start his own talk show at 11:30. NBC was scared Conan would be #1 so to stop him from leaving he was offered The Tonight Show. Jay stayed at #1 for the entire 5 years so now when it came time that he was leaving again NBC was scared that Jay would have been successful with either Fox or ABC. So they came up with the bright idea of having The Jay Leno Show. NBC was trying to have their cake and eat it to. I did watch the The Jay Leno Show and it only made me miss him on The Tonight Show the guests were better and the bits were better. Conan went on to The Tonight Show and he failed as well bringing the ratings down 49%. The Tonight Show audience did not care for Conan as the host. Again NBC had the brilliant idea of having Jay on for a half hour only. Which made no sense to me that was dumber than the 10:00 show. Conan said no and left. Jay gets his old show back which he never should have been taken off from. I am sure Jay will have the same success that he once had since that audience is very happy that he is coming back.
And please this was great publicity for Conan I am sure when he does go on Fox he will have great ratings the first week it will be interesting to see if he can keep them. Jay Leno did not walk into NBC and said I want The Tonight Show back like Conan is making it seem. Conan and Jay's new show were not big hits with the audience and that is what really happened.
Welcome home Jay you have been missed and I will watch you every night because you will always be #1 in my book.

I don't stay up that late either. I just put it on my dvr that way I can if the guests are musical artist are people I am not interested in I can skip it. Enjoy watching Jimmy Kimmel I did like his Jay Leno impresenation that was funny. Saw it on the news. I don't watch the other talk shows. I am also a Jimmy Fallon fan but I don't like his talk show. He was better on SNL.

I didn't know all the history, but I do agree the mess can be blamed primarily on NBC. I rarely watched any of these shows, but when I did, I liked Jay on the Tonight Show. I didn't watch Conan when he had his late show or when he took over the Tonight Show. I didn't watch Jay's new show, either.

I am a big Jay Leno fan but I didn't care for The Jay Leno Show. A lot of the comedy bits didn't seem natural like on The Tonight Show. Not well thought out it was just like let's throw this out and see what happens. I didn't watch it for very long. So I was surprised it didn't do well. I did watch Conan his first night on the tonight show just didn't find him funny.

I never heard Conan say that Jay requested to have the Tonight Show back. However, whatever the truth may be I'm not watching Jay nor did I watch Conan unless either show had someone that I wanted to see on. I would not watch the opening monologue. I would just wait for the guest that I wanted to see. I usually watch Letterman and now Lopez Tonight. I heard that there are alot of people are upset with Jay Leno so we shall see what the rating will be. They believe that when NBC wait back to Jay to take the Tonight show back he should have said NO. I'm sure like you said the first week will be probably have high ratings but I do believe it will not last and now I heard his sidekick is leaving the show too. I wonder what that is really all about.

All I can say is I heard Kevin and Jay had some type of argument but regardless of whatever the truth is or is not I won't be watching.

It's cool if you don't watch and I don't really listen to rumors. Which is why I never watch those entertainment shows like ET and especially TMZ. All garbage just to air stuff and the main goal is to make people look bad. No matter who it is. Enjoy watching Lettermen and Lopez tonight. Take care.

I am glad to see Jay back where he belongs and I agree the media likes to do nothing but cause trouble and stirs things up.

I am not particularly a fan of Jay Leno or Conan O'Brien (or any late night show, really) but I do also think people have mae too huge a deal out of this whole mess.
People have been "siding" with either Leno or O'Briean, and blaming the other for the confusion when in reality there are a whole slew of NBC producers and officials pulling the strings. :/
I might watch a couple shows of Jay Leno, but I don't think I'll be watching regularly.

I think both Jay and Conan are going to come out of this alright and yes the media made way to much out of it. NBC made all the wrong calls I guess that's why they are the lowest ranking of the networks.

No I will not watch Jay Leno, I am not particularly a fan of late night Television and because I find those talk shows boring and just plain weird. I think that it was great in the days of Johnny Carson but has become old and stale today. Sorry.

Don't be sorry it's okay if you are not into late night talk shows. Even if you said you were waiting for Conan that's cool. I was trying to find out if this was dying down.
