Mum, Always Guaranteed To Make Me Laugh!

I don't see my family as often as I would like so I compensate for this by taking advantage of free evening and weekend calls on our BT Home Hub Internet Phone.
Friday is a night I always telephone Mum after 6pm to get the low-down on the previous couple of days.
Anyway, she wasn't feeling so good as she had a bad cold similar to mine but in true Geminian spirit she soon got into the "chatting" groove lol.
I told her about my week and she told me about hers and between us we put the world to rights, as we always do.
The funniest moment came, however, when she told me about the latest telephone call she has had from Talk Talk, her current telephone provider. She proceeded to tell me about a lady (obviously from the Delhi Call Centre) who told her about how she could save more money on her telephone bills. Unfortunately, Mum could not understand much of what the lady was saying but the sentence that made me howl with laughter was this...and it came after a lot of sales talk by the caller:-
"Who is your current telephone services provider?"
Hahaha! Do you get it? Yes, it was Talk Talk! So Mum told the lady this and she said, "Thank you, Goodbye!" and hung up.
Absolute classic, I love stuff like this to cheer me up, do you?

LOL...that was funny. Sales pitch gone wrong?

This is why I love my telephone conversations with Mum as you can guarantee that something like this will crop up at some stage. Love it!

LOL... I have never heard of anything like this... An agent from the Talk Talk herself asking, 'who is your current service provider?' Very funny!!! I knew some people could go dumb, but this is the dumbest ever.. Thank you for sharing with us. :)
I am a call centre employee too. And I am sure that the team leader of that agent must have had a word with her about it. The quality management dept. must have scolded her... If she repeats such mistakes, she is going to lose her job..

Well, nobody would want her to lose her job with the market being as it is...but I do take your point that she must have had SOME record of Mum already being with Talk Talk. Isn't that what computer records are for? Mum even has an account number lol.

It is great to be able to talk to Mum like this as she has always got something to tell me that's funny! Every time! It's great because I've not had the best of weeks and she never fails to cheer me up. I had a bad day with one thing and another and cheered her up as well with my stories of the day haha! It's a two way thing we've got going!
