Have you been playing video games lately? Have you seen Dante's Inferno? |
| |
| It's been a long time since I last played console games. Probably like around a year or so. I used to enjoy playing PS2 when I was younger, and I got hooked to games like Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, and Grand Theft Auto. Yes, not entirely girly games, but playing video games is a good way to pass time and put ourselves in an entirely different world. Now I'm back to playing and I've landed upon this game, Dante's Inferno. I loved the book by Dante Alighieri, so now I'm trying this game which is supposed to be like the classic most of us have read. The animation is good, and I like how they portrayed those mythical and classical figures in the game. Very good depiction but somehow the revised story line just doesn't work for me. Anyway, how about you, have you played video games lately? I don't have class anymore so I'm free to slack off and play games again. Any video games that you got hooked to? Would love to hear and would also love to try them out. | | | | | |

| | I used to play games all the time too. Not just console games, I used to play with my psp a lot until recently. I played and finished Resident Evil 5 recently, after I got unlimited ammo though I got bored. I'm in the middle of playing Bio Shock 2 but am enjoying spending the time on forums and chatting rather than playing. Tried Dragon Age: Origins but got bored. MMORPG's also bore me now | | | | | | |

| | Hello Frissph! I haven't tried Resident Evil 5 yet, the last one I played was 4, the one that had NO ZOMBIES in it. LOL. Is Resident Evil 5 the latest one released? Is that the one released for the PS3? I haven't tried Bio Shock yet but sounds like a good first shooter game! Is that available for the 360? I haven't been reading game forums lately so I'm a bit left behind when it comes to games and the like. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion on Dragon Age! Would search and try that out! | | | |

| | Ahh that's sad, RE without zombies = fail. I haven't played four but was an avid RE fan before they ported over my tiny playstation one. It felt like the same resident evil but with less challenging puzzles and more action. I think it's the latest one. I played it in my PC but I believe that it came out earlier on the ps3 and/or 360. The first bioshock was really creepy D: had to play without sounds most of the time because I'm really jumpy. the second one doesn't seem to scare me that bad though XD Used to also love RPG's but I haven't found one I can really sink my teeth into these days. | | | |

| | LOL, I agree. Resident Evil without zombies just isn't Resident Evil at all! Yeah, I used to play using that tiny white playstation one too! Oh those were the gaming days. I looked Resident Evil 5 in youtube and it is the latest one! I do hope they have zombies there instead of weird murdering towns people. Would love to give Bio Shock a shot, but lately I've found my tolerance for creepy games have dwindled away. LOL. I do hope I can manage to play it up to the middle of the game. I used to love RPGs too! I used to love Final Fantasy and Chrono Cross. But since they crossed over to the much expensive PS3, I just settled with the normal shooting games in 360, wii and ps2. LOL. | | | |

| | I think what you encounter there is from the same strain of people as those from Resident Evil four. They still seem like zombies to me though although not in a traditional sense, I just hope they don't go too far from the zombie concept because that will defeat the reason I started playing it in the first place. Dwindled away eh? I know I have to catch up on some Silent Hill too as I enjoyed that a lot before. What type of games do you usually play? Maybe I can suggest one that's fairly famous and you could try that one. I'm bored most of the time so I just make do with whatever I can get my hands on. I love those two! I think the last "RPG" i played was dissidia but you can't really consider that an RPG I think. Maybe you can also try God of War, fairly brainless and is stress relieving somehow XD | | | |

| | LOL! So were those towns people zombies? I miss the old zombies from the previous Resident Evil. Those that can't run, hold a weapon and climb stairs! Zombies are creepy as they are, no need to give them a bit of intellect! Yeah! Silent Hill is good too! I've seen my sister play a few, but we can't really manage to finish the entire game because it gets too scary. Not to mention some of the weapons are crazy! Who uses a a TV set to kill monsters? LOL. But the story line is good! I watch the entire game in YouTube instead. Saves me from having a heart attack when I play! That game is way too freaky for me! You sure are brave being able to play Silent Hill! I used to like shooting games. But that was when I was 4 to 5 years younger. I play not so freaky games now like Call of Duty and the like. What are some of the best games you've played? :) Would love to try new games! I haven't tried Dissidia yet, in what console is it available? Oh, and yes! I've indeed tried God of War. It's quite easy, at least the easy mode is. I loved the story line too! Dante's Inferno is an exact rip off of that game. Kratos made too much of an impression on their game makers lol. | | | |

| | Im actually not one to sit still during a game. I dont mind watching others play but after about 10 mins I get bored. I would rather be on the Internet making money or grabbing freebies and coupons. My two brother love sitting and playing games for hours. I remember playing sonic and such games when I was younger but I dont have the time right now. | | | | | | |

| | I can actually relate to you, Ricki! Earning and doing things online has kept me for the past few months that I have already let goed of playing computer and console games! Playing video games consumes so much time, and we don't usually profit from it! LOL. Anyway, just the other day I saw my brother play so I thought of giving this game Dante's Inferno a shot. I don't spend long hours playing though, unlike how I did before. Most of my time is still spent here online. Anyway, thanks for sharing Ricki! | | | |

| | Hello Syaryel! Wow, so you've been a long time video game player huh! Yeah, Dante's Inferno is indeed similar to God of War. It's actually like Kratos wearing an Anglo Saxon outfit on! The game play is so similar as well as the features and fights. I play it in Xbox 360 though, is Heavy Rain available there? I would love to try it out! Congratulations on your PS3! I've always wanted to have one but it's a bit too pricey, especially the games! And I agree, Final Fantasy XIII is definitely a game to play! I haven't tried it yet, but hey, we all now how epic FF is! I don't have a PSN yet, but I'll try to make an account soon! I'll be sure to add you up! | | | |

| | hi! yes, I have played a PC game lately and it was the last week but I have already beaten all the levels/missions and i am done with it. he game is "Hitman II- the silent assassin" and It is my favorite one. I have seen many review about dante's inferno and all the people say that it is really something incredible, but I don't like RPG games :) | | | | | | |

| | Hello there Phoenix! Wow! I tried Hitman a few years back in PS2, and I must admit it really is an awesome game! I like the stealthiness of the game, it never fails to keep my adrenaline pumping whenever I play. Have you seen the movie? I'm not sure which game I played but if I'm not mistaken I think the last mission was entitled "requiem." I loved that mission! Is that from Silent Assassin? Anyway, yeah, Dante's cool too! But the story line of God of War is without a doubt better. If you decide to give RPG a shot then God of War will be nice! :) | | | |

| | Hello pocketrocket I havent played too much recetnly. I dunno why, maybe im getting old or maybe its the game not being so great as before. I have seen Dante´s Inferno but it really isnt so close to what the book is. I began reading the book but i didnt finish it(probably should reread it, but i dont have it anymore since it was a lended book). | | | | | | |

| | Hello Edxcast! I was thinking the same thing about myself too! I use to be a gamer but when I got to college my interest for games just dwindled away. Probably getting older. LOL! Anyway, I love the book Dante's Inferno! It's not an easy read but I like the depiction of hell and the allegories. Very, very intelligently done by the author Dante Alighieri! I have to agree with you though, the game is nothing close to the book. The story of Dante became too farfetched from the real one, but in fairness I like how they depicted the circles of hell! | | | |

| | I've been playing video games lately again. Though recently I've been playing my Gamecube. But that's partially been because of the fact that my Xbox 360 has gotten yet another red ring of death and I have yet looked into getting it repaired. I probably need to do that soon though since it's been about 3-4+ weeks since it happened. As for Dante's Inferno, no I have not played that yet. I agree about video games being a good way to pass the time when nothing important or anything is going on. | | | | | | |

| | Oh, so sad to hear about what happened to your Xbox. :( We've been really paranoid with our Xbox too since we've heard that Xboxes are more or less "doomed" to get those devastating red rings. Would you know what causes that? Anyway, yeah, games are a good way to pass time. It can be relaxing sometimes, sometimes it can also pump your adrenaline, which I think is a good thing! GameCubes's made by Nintendo right? I always enjoyed their games. They always find something new to add to the experience of gameplay, just like what they did to the touch screen function of the DS and the wireless movement sensor of the Wii. :) | | | |

| | Hello Vnrsudhan! Wow, I haven't heard of Dante's Awakening! Is it similar to the Dante book? I haven't tried Spyro but I've finished Prince of Persia the Sands of Time too! Very, very nice game. It has a lot of acrobatics which for me made the game play fun! There's a movie of Prince of Persia coming out! Have you seen the trailer? It's about the Sands of Time too! Anyway, wow! I'm really glad to here you're playing God of War! Dante's Inferno is a rip off of that game, so if you've finished to series, you might want to give Inferno a shot too! Kratos, without a doubt though, is a lot more cooler in all levels. I loved the story line of God of War. Definitely epic! There's a third one coming out! But sad I don't have the PS3. :( | | | |

| | There was a period of a long time whereby I just didn't play games much or even at all. Then I saw Dante's Inferno and Dark Siders, and I have also recently finished The Sabateur. So Dark Siders it is now. Anyway, Dante's Inferno was a really cool change, and a bit of a challenge at times. I liked it, 8.75/10 | | | | | | |
