Last year I traveled to Cape Town and the Garden Route in South Africa with my toddler son. This summer I shall be taking him and my baby daughter to Vancouver in Canada. I am glad you had a wonderful time in Egypt last year. I think that if you get a reasonably priced flight to America and you stay in backpacker hostels you will be able to afford to go to America. I suggest you fly into New York, Miami, Los Angeles or San Francisco. Then you could spend a couple of weeks seeing that part of America. Like you could visit New York, Boston, Cape Cod and Washington DC. Alternatively you could see Florida or hop over to California. I wish you happy traveling and the American dream of yours to come true.

America is a big country and impossible to see in a week or two. Depending on how much time you have, you may be better off picking a region of the country (like the Northwest, West Coast, Southwest, South, Atlantic States, Northeast, etc.) or a few states. Yes, it can be expensive, but you don't have to stay in 5-star hotels. There are reasonable 1- and 2-star motels/hotels, and you may want to consider traveling by AMTRAC and just go where the train goes. You'll still see a lot of the country; certainly not everything, but a lot.
