I have heard some stories about tattoos that cause different health problems [Hep C ,skin diseases, or causing some problems at the RAM scanning [ hope I spelled it right]. Are these true?

I agree. I have gotten mine done at two different places and never had any problems. My sister went to some guys house and hers swelled up later, I dont know if it was the tat or her not cleaning it right. You have to be careful.

I have several tattoos and each one has been done in a clean studio, with sterile needles and a very experienced artist. Most of the problems would come from people not looking after their tattoos, keeping them clean and using antiseptic. I would always recommend going to a recommended tattoo studio and checking out their qualifications

I've seen what can happen when someone doesn't care for their tattoo, a mate of mine has a permanent scar now :-(.

I dont know why you would spend the money and time on something if you arent going o care for it. I know sometimes its not all the person fault but that would suck.

Hep C and other diseases that can be passed through a needle can be passed through getting a tattoo from a place that doesn't follow the safety codes or rules. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE PLACE OUT REALLY WELL. You can get a lot of nasty things if you go to a place that isn't clean and doesn't take care of there equipment. The Metal detectors is if you have prison tats that used metal in the ink (I Think any way)

Yes, they can cause different conditions, such as Hep C. However, if you make sure you are going to a sterile, well-known tattoo parlor it should be fine. And be sure to ask plenty of questions when you book your appointment. Also, they should be sure to prove to you that the equipment they are using is perfectly sterile (if they don't show you, ask.. and if they refuse to show you, LEAVE!)

There is a chance of getting these, but theres a chance of a lot of things happening all of the time. you could walk across the street and get hit by a car, but you dont because you check out where you are going. the say is true when getting a tattoo. You need to check out when you are getting it and make sure they are clean and use a clean needle still in the package.
