I don't really know why but I am afraid of clowns. It goes back as far as I can remember, for some reason I think of them as all evil.
I had a humbling experience today since my girlfriend and I took her 3 year old boy to a local carnival and there were 2 roaming clowns. I really hope I don't have nightmares tonight but I am likely to!
I had to be brave since her little boy wasn't at all afraid and wanted to go meet one of them and get a ballon animal from him. I hung back and tried hard not to look freaked out.
I wish I knew what it was that made me fear them! I can't watch them on Tv and especially not in scary movies. Don't even like Ronald McDonald the clown, he's freaky to me too. How about you, do you like clowns or fear them? Any idea why?

I think clowns are all right. For me, some clowns are funny.
As for your situation, I think it's all right to admit it. You are not alone. There is actually a term for fear of clowns which is "coulrophobia". I too don't know the reason for this specific phobia but maybe psychologists or psychiatrists would know the answer.
Here are two articles I found online that may shed a bit of light on this matter:
http://www.phobia-fear-release.com/clown-phobia.html
http://www.phobias-help.com/clown_phobia.html
I hope you find your answer for this phobia. Don't let anyone make of you about it.
Take care and happy myLotting!

Thanks for the input. I was sure that there would be a special name for it since I know that others don't like clowns either. I'll check out the websites for any insight. I really don't ever remember not being bothered by them. I met Ronald Mcdonald when I was about 6 and I politely told him to leave me alone. Poor guy was abit taken aback and tried to be extra friendly. My dad had to tell him that i was tired or something to get him to go away. Yeah Dad!
Luckily I don't come across clowns in daily life tho I do avoid some carnivals where I know there will be some. I knew ahead of time that this carnival had them so I was prepared and it was delightful seeing how happy little Jared was with meeting a "super" clown and getting a ballon kitty.

Thanks for the kind understanding!! I don't know why but I sure do dislike them. It doesn't realhy make sense and somehow that part annoys me. There has to be some event that I don't recall that started it all. For now at least I know that I won't be seeing anymore anytime soon. Little Jared had a wonderful experience with the nice clown fellow he met so at least he won't have the phobia like I do. Take care and be well!!

The only clown that I fear is McDonald's Ronald. I swear he's trying to kill us all with his greasy fast food! And who ARE those guys he hangs out with? What exactly is a Grimace? Kinda looks like Barney the Dino's cousin. Remember they used to have the Hamburgler - guess he got locked up because I haven't seen him around any more. Yeah, McDonald's grosses me out. I'd rather have a professional cook my food than some clown!

They freak me out and they are really scary to look at. TATA.
