Carlisle have a football final to play on Sunday against Southampton at the New Wembley so we are travelling down tomorrow morning on the train. That means we have Friday night and the whole of Saturday to explore London (well, the Centre at least) and I can't wait!
Our original plan was to travel on the coach on Saturday but John decided to book the train then we could come back on the coach after the match on Sunday, as was originally planned.
The train only takes 3hr 26m to travel 299 miles (and, as I know I will need the toilet during the journey) this is ideal for me. Coaches in this country are geared towards the men, hence the mess they make, so there is no way I could risk it...and with only two stops on the coach it would make me miserable. At least, on the train I shall have more freedom, something that is very important...and the toilets on Virgin Trains are brilliant compared to other operators so I am now looking forward to the journey now rather than dreading it.
Hopefully, an added bonus will be Carlisle winning on Sunday. We have been in the Johnstone's Paints Trophy Final more times than anyone else so it's about time we actually won it!
As for me it will be my first trip to the New Wembley. John has been to the old one a few times but he hasn't been to the new one either.
Can't wait!
Are you planning or going on a nice trip somewhere? It's good to get away; even if it's only for a couple of days in our case.
We are staying in a hotel by the way. Haha!
It's a chain called Premier Inn and it's in an area called Brentford. In fact, their footy stadium isn't far away with a pub on each corner!

Have a nice trip and enjoy your weekend.
As for myself, I usually go to dad's on the weekends to do his washing and some cooking but this weekend he's away the whole weekend with his hockey team. They have a team from the US come here (Canada) to play and then we go there. He left very early this morning and I guess I have a free weekend. Did all his washing this week. I'll stay home!!

That reminds me of my Mum washing my brother's work clothes every weekend. For some reason he brings them all round to her but he does pay her lol. It's like a launderette in her house at times but she lives on the coast with a large washing-line in the garden so the clothes dry quickly if it's warm enough outside. She very rarely has to put her tumble dryer on for more than about 15 minutes. Lucky her!

Hi Dawn. Got back about an hour and a half ago and both of us are shattered. We lost the footy game too which was a shame but at least we scored one goal...it's just the other team scored 4 lol.
As for me, I had a really embarrassing experience getting off the coach at a stop for an hour or so (decided to take the coach coming back but did have the choice of the train but it would've been too crowded) and it involves "the time of the month." John had to take my bag off the coach (stored underneath) so I could have a change of clothing...and I slag off Cumbrian women at times but at that moment at least 3 of them were brilliant and helped me out in the ladies toilets, chucking wipes etc over the cubicle door.
I really need to get this thyroid problem sorted out, I can't cope.
At least I was OK the rest of the time, including many trips on the Tube and the match itself, it was coming home that I had problems..and that was the reason for going on the train TO London...but it turns out my heaviest time was coming back. Quite ironic don't you think?
God really doesn't smile on me at times (I mean I'm not very religious) but you know what I mean. Sh*t always seems to happen to me and I get a bit fed up of it!

Have a great time hun, I hope the weather is good for the match.
My partner and I are going away over Easter, spending the weekend with a load of friends and having fun.
