I see a flood of YELLOW, ORANGE, DARK GREEN....my!What wonderful colors!  email this discussion to a friend?

I'm actually talking about the colors representing the political candidates for the May 10, 2010 elections here in the Philippines. I'm sure most of you have set your eyes on the colors yellow or orange. lol

Actually, there is one candidate that truly impresses me. No, he doesn't use his ancestry (father or mother)for his campaigns, or his being "truly poor" as a child who later on succeeded in life, or someone who underwent impeachment trials and seems to be back to retaliate..., Or flies an airplane!rofl

Just someone with a great track record, who claims to plan to TRANSFORM this almost hopeless country. Well we all have our own choices, don't we?

BUT, this candidate don't stand a great chance of winning according to surveys. Even after knowing his status on the surveys, would you still vote for this candidate because he or she is your choice regardless of his standing on the surveys? Or would you vote for someone else who seems to have a greater chance of winning? For some, the popularity or likeability of winning matters. so they shift.

Should surveys influence your decision?

happyHello Theresaaiza,

I thought you'd never askedlol I know exactly whom you're talking about. ever since the debates i have been truly impressed by his principles and goals to help our country, his words had been proven in his track records. a lot of people thinks what he's planning is impossible but he has done the impossible in subic! after the leaving of US bases, Mt. Pinatubo explosion, he turn it around.

Track record does matter because that's when the leadership skills are tested! unlike those who are popular in surveys!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj5X7X6pKPM

take note: surveys are either paid or not accurate because it can also be fabricated. this is what i have realized now, since i have chose the best candidate among those who participate in the debates.

ABS-CBN has now been proven a Bias network since they report too much on Noynoy, less one villar and few on others..only rare report on GORDON! they didn't report him being number one in gulp of 7/11 or today in the UP mock elections where he was TOP! they didn't report that. they are so bias!

but am impressed with GMA 7 for being fair in their report. i even called them to represent the forum/debates because ABS is so biased. if you want more info just check on my political discussions about GORDON!.

Don't let surveys deceived you, VOTE for the right person that has experience, integrity and political will. not those who are popular in surveys..now, those popular in the surveys are avoiding the debates because they fear gordon will out smart them. and sway others voters to him.

Don't be fooled by the larger crowd! be smart! winnables won't do good if they're not answering issues or simply telling people aren't watching watching debates!

This is one of his messages! ps. watch all of his interviews! don't be fooled by commercials and advertisements.

I couldn't hide my excitement knowing that you too are Gordonian! (i made that term myself)lol A lot of people are actually going yellow here but it doesn't matter that much to me since he is my second choice.

myLot reputation of 97/100. LetranKnight25 (11773)   ranked 8 out of 3,627 in philippines  2 years ago

NO kidding! you should join this page

and participate on our daily activities there. hey, i also have thought about being a gordonian most specially after hearing his stands on issues. those people who are going yellow are going blind and doesn't scrutinize they're candidates.
the candidate for teh Yellow mafia is NEVER my choice any more or second, third or fourth..thumbdownthumbdown

I signed in! thank you. AT least through FB I can help campaign for him. Hopefully I could sway some people to transfer to the RED color!happy

Well it is good that you are not swayed from your decision. I really hope Philippines will have a good leader.

A lot of people say he is a dictator. I just hope he will also learn to listen to opposing views. But if what this country needs is a dictator again to implement change then so be it.

I would still follow what myself dictated to me. I believed that I am giving my vote to him because I think that he is a better candidate-even if his margin of winning is very slim, I would not hesitate to vote because I know that I was not wasted it.

myLot reputation of 94/100. Theresaaiza (3374)   ranked 43 out of 3,627 in philippines  2 years ago

That's exactly the point, vote on the person whom you believe is the right person to be sitting on the presidential seat. We should take these things seriously because it's our country's future we're talking about, right?

May the best candidate win.happy And may we have a peaceful election this year.

I think we have the same candidate in mind. Unfortunately however, I do not think that our candidate has a chance of winning. Well, I have long accepted the political situation in our country. I know there is no one to blame except us considering that we are the ones who vote. Well, I do not let the surveys affect my decision. I vote based on who I think is good based on character and principle.happy

sadhello jpso, if that is what you say so then that's fine. i don't think he will win but i am optimistic since he has all the qualifications. it's the people who should decide and not the endorsers. trouble is that people wanted to be dictated and wanted something in return for the votesadsad

They say that every politician has his/her own demon/evil and that the candidate we will choose is the one who is the lesser evil. They also say a lot of negative things about our "manok" but at least he is an evil with a lot of good accomplishments.

We have the right to vote in our country. That right should not be abused or used mistakenly. On my part, I will vote for the person who has the capacity to make a better change for Philippines. This person who has the will, integrity, leadership, and with the purpose to lift up our nation. Not the kind of person that is driven by his/her own interest. Thus, I will vote who I feel is the right person based on my decision and not be influenced by the surveys, ads, or what other people has said.

If surveys were somehow a reflection of how the elections would turn out, then why bother having an election? The thing is, surveys are set up to condition the minds of Filipinos on who has a chance on winning and who does not. The problem with this country is that voters don't think as much and just goes through the motions. They do not research about the candidates.

myLot reputation of 94/100. Theresaaiza (3374)   ranked 43 out of 3,627 in philippines  2 years ago

EXACTLY!glare We don't research on our candidates. That's why it helps when we also hear negative comments about our candidate because somehow it opens our minds and stirs our curiosity. There really is a need to dig deeper into a person's reputation.

I have Gordon and Gibo as my top two bets for the presidential seat. Gordon is proven and tested. He is someone I assume could run the country well.

myLot reputation of 94/100. Theresaaiza (3374)   ranked 43 out of 3,627 in philippines  2 years ago

Go for red, If I were you.lolJust kidding. It's good that you are trying to really decide wisely. I hope we can really be instruments for our country's change. People now have hearts hardened with indifference because of the many crisis we are going through.

myLot reputation of 97/100. LetranKnight25 (11773)   ranked 8 out of 3,627 in philippines  2 years ago

happyI'd vote for gordon because GIBO can still run for 2016 Presidential Race. gibo is also brilliant but he needs more experience in his track record.unfortunately, things hasn't really changed that much. a lot wanted to be paid just for them to vote, or should they allow vote buying.

myLot reputation of 94/100. Theresaaiza (3374)   ranked 43 out of 3,627 in philippines  2 years ago

People should not be that stupid. They are only looking at the present without any foresight on the consequence of vote-buying. And also, not voting is as bad as selling votes. People must exercise their right.

I can understand who you are trying to point at. Well I respect your stand on it and I admire you if you would stick to your choice until May 10, 2010. I think that is what is needed by this country voters who cannot be swayed by any political ads, surveys and even the media. You believe in what you think is right for the country and if ever he loses over the others at least you voted with your conscience and not by any other external factors these other politicians are trying to do.

As for my choice, I try my vote to be as private as I can be and like you I will stand by it unless there is something that goes out and could be validated by the truth will I change my decision. But for now, I will remain silent supporter for that candidate of mine.

myLot reputation of 94/100. Theresaaiza (3374)   ranked 43 out of 3,627 in philippines  2 years ago

Yes, I am very much convinced with the worthiness of my candidate to be the country's president but like I said we all have our choices and I hope that the most deserving candidate will really win.

Stay firm in your beliefs and may we have a peaceful election! :)
