Book or movie?? |
| |
| I read the book "The Da Vinci Code" about three years ago. I think it is an excellent book. Its scenario attracted me a lot and I was even frightened by that. Several days ago I watched the movie shot according to this book, and I was a little disappointed by that movie. I think the movie didn't express the scenarios of the book very well. So what do you think about it? Movie or book, which do you like better? | | | | | |

| | Hi,passionyao.I agree with you. Before I finish reading the book,I can't help watching the movie...I know that it is difficult to contain all the plot of the novel in several hours. But the rhythm of the movie isn't that tight as the book shows. Moreover,I can't understand the french accent of heroine... | | | | | | |

| | I read the book, and then saw the movie. I am opposite of you, I thought it went almost exact to the book. I loved them both! | | | | | | |

| | Thanks for your reply. Different people have different ideas on the same thing and it's very normal. Maybe my expectation to this movie is too high and this makes me feel down when I found that it's not so fantastic. | | | |

| | I would prefer movies though.. much entertaining for me and i think i can understand it better... books... honestly I'm lame when comes into books but we all know that most movies that came from books doesn't really meet our expectations.. read the book? movie came up = see them both movie came up? haven't read the book = it's up to you (story wise). | | | | | | |

| | I think your opinion is very interesting and also very sensible. We all have a different taste on movie or book. Some like movies while some enjoy reading books. Just do what we like~ | | | |

| | A film will rarely replicate our imagination. So if you've been very deep in the book the film will tend to disappoint | | | | | | |

| | I read the book; but have not seen the movie, so I can't compare the two. However, it has been my experience that the book is almost always far better than the movie. | | | | | | |

| | Most of the time books are more detailed then movies, so in that case a book. But a movie is just more realistic you can see it. It shows things a books can't descripe that well. | | | | | | |

| | Well I agree with you. Books can describe scenarios much more detailed. And what's more reading books leave us more space for us to think. This is very important as imagination of human-beings is infinite. But a movie can also have great effect if the director can consider more and the actor can act more lively. This can also reflect the quality of the movie. | | | |

| | Hi! It's always the same for me: everytime I read a book first and see the movie after, I'm disappointed (the last Harry Potter movie was a nightmare for example) it's often better to watch the movie first then read the book. sometimes it's just because your imagination of the characters doesn't quite fit with what they've done to the movie and I can deal with that but there's a lot of cases where they (I mean the movie crew) just skipped parts of remade it to fit and I hate it! I definitely like books better (Da Vinci Code included) but I still watch movies because it's faster and sometimes I'm too lazy so I just sit back and let the images move instead of turning the pages! | | | | | | |

| | Even if the movie has 'exciting' offers, I still prefer its book counterpart. It's because the book is so detailed to every scene and event in the story. When it's translated into a movie, there are lots of detail missing already. I've also read and watched The Da Vinci Code and then Angels and Demons. I loved the books, not much their movies. I suggest that you read first then watch. | | | | | | |
