WWE Teams | | | | What are your favorite teams in WWE - doesn't matter if they exist now or they have split up. I remember back in the beginning of the 21st century when tag teams were of the best stars because they were very good and not so much. Stars like Hardy boyz, Dudley boys, Edge and Christian, The Acolytes. These just knew how to do a show. There were those legendary matches with tables, ladders and chairs - pretty epic battles we have seen. I loved when there were those unpredictable teams formed like Triple H and Stone Cold or The Undertaker and Kane. Now there are too many stars and I really miss that "old days" (I began to watch wrestle about 10 years ago). I remember the return of some legendary teams like nWo, DX and I also loved The Radicalz..such a weird gang they were. So what are your favorite teams, collaborations etc.. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | Boy, tag team wrestling, there's another thing that has really gotten away from wrestling. There have been a good tag team or two in recent years, but really it is nothing like it was in the years prior to this. Especially in the 1980s, that was a good time for tag teams. Early 90s too though a step. Therefore, I'm going to give my top ten tag teams. (And I'm going to keep with teams that have passed through WWE at one point or another, so as much as I love the Briscoe Brothers, Beer Money, The Motor City Machine Guns, and many others, they sadly will not make this list due to not being in WWE) Just Missed: Brian Kendrick and Paul London. A rocking tag team that I could not justify putting over any of the other tag teams on the list. Still a great team team. They would be a solid number 11 for sure. And yes, the New Age Outlaws were not on the list but to be honest, I found them a product of the Attitude era, which I always think is overrated and the only reason they were popular because of the Road Dogg's microphone work. 10) The Dudley Boys -A team that is still together today, so by pure longevity, they have to make the list. Other than a brief break up in 2002, where Bubba became Dusty Rhodes Version 2.0 and D-Von became the Reverend D-Von Dudley(complete with Deacon Batista), they have been together since 1996. That is pretty good for a team, especially in this day in age. 9) Edge and Christian. -I believe they were only together for about two or three years, but they were part of many memorable matches in that time. So they make the list. The pioneers of the TLC matches. Plus, there alliance with Kurt Angle has to be mentioned, as they were part of many entertaining skits. 8) MNM -Another tag team that were only together for a few years, but they had some great matches and an entertaining act. And having seen their developmental stuff before WWE, I think MNM had a lot of untapped potential that was not properly utilized when they got brought up to the big time. Still, they had great matches, even with a depleted tag team roster. 7) Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. -I might be in the minority, but I love this tag team. Some of the best tag teams were the sum being better than the two parts. And Cade and Murdoch were among a team that was like this. Still they had some entertaining run. I personally loved their feud with the Hardy Boyz in 2007. That was some unique and entertaining stuff. 6) The Steiner Brothers -These guys would be ranked a bit higher if we were going across the board but since I am only focusing on their stint in this company. Now it was a good stint overall with some great matches. There match with the Heavenly Bodies at Summerslam 1993 is one of the best tag team matches of the year. Plus great matches with the Headshrinkers, Money Incorporated, and the Quebecers. These guys might be 2 or 3 if I was factoring in things other than their WWF stint in 1993-1994, but right now, they are going to have to settle for number 6. 5) The Hardy Boyz -This team is a bit higher than their counterparts in the TLC trilogy, because of two things. The feud with MNM and the feud with Cade and Murdoch. Two solid feuds against two other top tag teams on the list. So therefore, it is enough for Matt and Jeff to earn the number five spot on the list. 4) The Legion of Doom -Hawk and Animal as if you had to ask, not that awful version with Animal and Heidenreich. Yeah, the Legion of Doom would be number 1 on this list perhaps if I was doing this across the board instead of WWE. Still I am looking at their stint from 1991-1992 especially where they just were rather entertaining. Okay, some of their 1997 stuff was okay, providing that were in the ring with Owen Hart and the British Bulldog. Still LOD would be number 2 or 3 on this list if it was overall, but still number 4 is nothing to sneeze at. 3) Demolition. -Why yes, I did put Demolition over the Legion of Doom. I always enjoyed Demolition. At first, they were a cheap Road Warriors rip off but they matured into a team of their own legacy. Ax and Smash were one of the better power teams of the 1980s. When Crush joined, not so good, but still the original Demolition(well technically the second version of Demolition, because the Original Smash was someone else other than Barry "I'm Going to Kick Your Stinkin' Teeth In" Darsow but that's a long story). 2) The Hart Foundation/The British Bulldogs/Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith. -I lumped these three teams together because I could not really justify leaving any of these teams off the list but at the same time, they would be burning up a good chunk of the list. Seriously, any team that involves a Hart, or someone who married a Hart sister is going to be decent to great. The series between the British Bulldogs and the Hart Foundation was one of my favorite tag feuds of all time. And the number one tag team of all time in WWE history is. 1) The Mean Street Posse! No, just kidding. The real number one tag team in WWE history is. 1) The Rockers. -Shawn Michaels is awesome. Always has been and Marty Jannetty was pretty good himself. So these two really revolutionized tag team wrestling. Without the Rockers, there might not be a lot of the high flying teams that you see today. They never won the tag belts in WWE(well not officially, there was a title change that happened, then didn't happen, only in wrestling, only in wrestling). Still, it just proves that Shawn Michaels is as good as a tag team wrestler as he is a singles competitor and Marty Jannetty more than held up his end of the bargain. | | | | | | | | | | WWE: Buy, Sell, or Hold?
