Here's a Really Stupid Question for You

I've been trying to glue a night light together for about a week now. I passed on Elmer's glue; I knew it wouldn't hold the agate rock to the plastic. I passed on wood glue; I knew it wouldn't work. I tried Gorilla glue yesterday and the agate fell on the floor about 2 last night, scaring the cr*p out of me. I've tried epoxy glue in the past; it didn't work. What glue actually works on rock and plastic? What would you try next, in lieu of tossing the night light?

Go to Walmart or a neighborhood hardware shop and buy a tube of Liquid Nails Clear Small Projects.

I've got super glue on it right now. If that doesn't work, I just happen to have clear liquid nail (if it's not as hard as a rock). I put my tile up with that...why didn't I think of that? Thanks, Gewcew.

Have you tried Super Glue??? You just need to be careful & NOT get it on your fingers!!! It's NO fun when you glue your fingers together. This must be one important night light as I'd throw it away & buy a new one. You may well spend more money on glue than a new night light might cost.

I haven't tried Super Glue. I've only been using glues I had on hand. But Super Glue may be the next thing I purchase. I don't want to toss the night light, because it has a bear in the woods painted on the agate rock and it sends out a really pretty cool shadow/light at night. Thanks for the suggestion...Super Glue it is (and I heed your warning).

One word of advice... If you do get the Super Glue on your fingers, immediately run cold water over your fingers. The cold water makes the glue become brittle & your fingers will just pop apart with a little bit of effort. Then you can just pick off the little traces that are left. I found this out the hard way!!!!

I just rifled through my "glue can" and found a small tube of Super Glue and a small tube of Super Glue Remover. I cleaned off the Gorilla Glue (as best I could) and tried Super Glue. (I didn't need the remover, thank goodness.) I'll let you know if it works. I'm going to let it set for 24 hours... Thanks again for the suggestion. (I also found a bunch of other types of glues (I must have been collecting glue) in my glue can. I'll try each of those, except the ones I know won't work (wood glue, Elmer's, etc.).)

I used Super Glue and put up the night light last night. As of tonight, it's still sticking, so Super Glue seems to have done the trick. If it hadn't worked, I was going to use Liquid Nail... It's on the back burner as of now. Hope your Angel gets fixed...

I guess I could just hold it together with my fingers...not. They had to have used something to make it work the first time. One of my neighbors kids accidently ran in to it and knocked it on the floor, and I've tried everything I can think of...and that I have on hand. I may just have to go buy something, but what? Thanks for your thoughts.
