I notice there are usually more responses when mylot is really busy. For me it is in the mornings and then at different periods in the evening. I can tell by how quickly the topics go across the top of the screen. If I can't keep up with them I know it's really busy and that's a real good time to start discussions. But since it varies they are difficult to catch!

Time of day for your post really shouldn't matter. Since MyLot is used by people all over the world you are likely to get a response at anytime. The most important thing to remember when posting/looking for responses is to put your post in the right catagory, send out and accept friend request, and make sure your topic has a reason to make someone want to respond. Also remember all topic/discussion are not going to have alot of responses. If people all pretty much agree with what the other posters have written, they may comment on someone elses response or simply not leave any response because there is no real reason to duplicate answers.

I think the best times are pacific time- 7 to 10 AM, it could be around 2 o' clock in the afternoon Greenwich Mean time (GMT), or 12 to 5 pm India Time- IST (GMT + 0530 HOURS).
However, there is no set rule here.

Mylot is a great site with members all around the Earth. Sometimes I´m posting in the morning and my friends are having an evening coffee
. The best ways to get answers, from my experience, is to have many nice friends and have the site tell you when your friends posted. But I can answer the next day too. Posts continue being "alive" for a lot of time. Be sure to tag them properly too: that also helps.
Happy posting and welcome to mylot!

Hi BryseLyBoi,
I think it is base on you discussions since we have people around the world here. If your discussions/questions can be answered by everybody here (general discussions/questions), I believe you will get your response(s) as soon as you posted it. But if it is a specific discussions/questions (some restriction on gender, technical ability, cultural or geographical area) you may need more time to get the responses/answers.
But, from my observation, most of us would log-in during 7.00pm - midnight according to my time (my time is +13 hours from mylot time). And this time is the best time to post a discussion especially if we need immediate responses.

I usually start a discussion at or after midnight and when i check my mail the next day there are notifications on responses. Although i'm in the philippines so i don't know what time it is in your country.

The 'best' time is your own time.
When you start a discussion, if it is an interesting topic and receives a response or two immediately, then you should be here and comment back to them. That will keep it alive and others will see it in all the lists and you are likely to receive more responses.
If your friends have their notifiers turned on then they will see it as soon as they open their mail, which could be any time at all, but if you are not there to comment they might move on elsewhere.

I don't really think it matters, as it is to each individuals discretion. I will post discussions, when I come up with a good topic to discuss, and not before. I have seen discussions posted at all times of he day, so whatever time is good for you it will be good for everyone else. I don't really get all that many responses to my discussions, but it is sure better than getting zero responses. Also, I think that it depends on the topic of discussion as to whether it is interesting enough to get responses. As long as you have something to say, then I would say anytime would be a good time. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

You know, I really never noticed if there was a time where there were more posts for a discussion or not. I have posted discussions all across the board to various successes at different times. Some discussions that I have posted have gotten success and then I turn around and post other discussions around that same time during a different day and my success is not as much. I guess it truly depends on your experiences.
If I would guess, the afternoon and the evening tends to get the more successful posting for me, at least that is what I have done but then again as I said, it really varies. I have posted some questions around that time that have really not gotten the response that I desired and at different times that got more response. Of course, if the question catches the interest of the people, they will come, regardless of the time. Then again, if there was a huge volume of posts, it is very easy to be buried underneath all of that.
