barack obama ... lets be honest |
| |
| Ok were online, the place where you can state how you actually feel, without fear of what people will say about you. Where everyone has brass balls, and people that play "wow" are cool. So lets be honest. Who voted for Barack Obama just because he was black? Who voted for him because he was a democrat? Who voted for him, because he said some things about w. bush that you agreed with? Would you do it again? | | | | | |

| | I wanted to vote Nader, had to register for democrat to vote in Hillary, because the green party would not have enough and I had to do what it took to keep a republican out of the office. When Hillary lost the primaries, I voted for Obama. And I have not regretted it since. I will do it again in 2012, and then Nader in 2016. | | | | | | |

| | Why did you vote for a democrat just to keep a repub out of office? Obama is doing the same thing W. Bush did. Do you really think the two parties are different? | | | |

| | Obama is doing the exact opposite of what W did. Anyone knows that. There are huge fundamental differences in the two parties. I choose the side that stands for humanity and not wealth. | | | |

| | Really they are different? How? Bush kept saying we need to send more troops, the dems including obama said we need to pull them out. Obama said he would pull them out. He didn't. He sent more. He's doing the same things that Bush did, but because he's a dem the whole world thinks he's a hero. Is irony the word I'm looking for? I'm not sure exactly what to call it. | | | |

| | I'm sure some could give you a more comprehensive list, but here are a few things for you to think about. Obama extended the Patriot Act that Bush started. Obama has continued to use Predator drones to attack terrorists in Pakistan He has kept the same secretary of defense. He has kept the same plan for a drawdown of troops in Iraq while keeping a moderate number there after hostilities have ceased (even though he swore he wouldn't do the last part in 2008). He has kept lobbyists in the White House even giving them high ranking advisory positions. He used Recess Appointments to get controversial people into key White House positions without being confirmed by congress. He has appointed unconstitutional Czars without having them go through the confirmation process of congress. These are all things Bush did, and they were things Obama claimed to oppose. | | | |

| | I didn't vote for Obama, but it's not because he's half Black and it's not because he was a Democrat. I didn't vote for Obama because he's too far left for me. I consider myself a moderate; registered Independent. And knowing everything I know, now, I'd vote the same way I did before, for the lesser of two evils. | | | | | | |

| | That's how many people vote, but as long as were voting the lesser of two evils we'll never get anywhere. I don't vote. I'm not going to vote for the lesser of two horrible people. When they get someone worth voting for then I'll vote. And as long as people keep voting for these losers, they'll keep giving us losers. | | | |

| | Why don't you just vote for someone else Redhot? You can still write in a candidate. Even if they aren't officially running, Having a massive amount of votes that weren't for either main candidate, that would really send a message. | | | |

| | LilPixelle has a great point, redhot. People fought to their graves for the right to vote. Even if it is only done to send a message, use your right to vote. | | | |

| | Yes they fought for my right to choose. We aren't given a choice. These candidates are picked for us, and voting is not really in our control. But writing in someone else's name is a good idea. Until they get a real person I'll vote for that guy from Jack N the Box. | | | |

| | I did not vote for Obama because of the color of his skin. I did not vote for Obama because he is a democrat. I did not vote for Obama because of what he said about Bush. I did not vote for Obama. I actually voted for Ron Paul. He is the only person that I have seen in recent times that stays true to his beliefs. He makes no apologies, he eats lunch alone in Dc because the lobbyists know there is no point. He follows our Constitution. He keeps things very simple. He wants small government. If he runs again in 2012, I will vote for him again. | | | | | | |

| | That is who my daughter voted for. Obama only said he was for change but I didn't really get what those changes would be. I think I would voted for Ron Paul next time myself as neither Democrats or Republicans have good candidates. | | | |

| | I agree. And he did say CHANGE. Next time, voters should ask what change that is! Paul is actually a Republican but does not follow party line, ticks the RNC off to no end! I love that about him! | | | |

| | WHat did Ron Paul really stand for. I couldn't understand that guy. He was a bit crazy. The only thing I could understand is that druggies love him, because he wanted to legalize drugs. | | | |

| | well red, he is for much smaller government and wants to hold the federal governments feet to the fire. Every vote he makes, he looks at how it compares to the authority given by the Constitution. He wants to abolish a lot of Gov programs, like the irs, dept of ed, dept of int, the list goes on and on. He is for much lower taxes and tight fiscal policies. Regarding legalizing drugs, he wants that control in the hands of the States like most things. According to our Constitution, the Federal Government has very limited power and everything else should go to the states. He simply pushes the Constitution. | | | |

| | I think he says alot of things that sound good to people, but doesn't really think about what would happen if he actually did those things. You get rid of the irs who will collect the taxes? Get rid of the board of education , what will happen to our education? There's lots of bad government spending that needs to be controlled, but I'm not sure Ron Paul really has a clue what is good and what is bad. That or he's just another sneaky old politician trying to trick people into voting for him. | | | |

| | Regarding th eIRS, one flat tax, no complication no problem. The other departments, according to our constitution, should be handled through our state government. but I'm not sure Ron Paul really has a clue what is good and what is bad He has been in Washington since the 70s. I think he is catching on. he's just another sneaky old politician trying to trick people into voting for him. Im not sure you know much about him. He stands up the most against the mainstream, does not walk with either party. He states his beliefs and follows them. I find him to be the most honest person in politics. Here are some links for you to get to know him a little better http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Paul http://www.ronpaul.com/ http://www.campaignforliberty.com/ He simply follows our Constitution. He does not try to make things go his own way. I guess I cant really explain. Look at the man, his record, his bills. then compare them to our Constitution. Then look at the crap other Senators are voting for and pushing and compare these to our Constitution. | | | |

| | I voted for Ron Paul too. He was the only one in the race with common sense. I hope he runs again in 2012. I would vote for him in a heart beat. He has sound fiscal politics....shocker...most politician don't have a clue what fiscal responsibility is.Ron Paul does. His foreign policies were good. He follows the constitution. He was the best of all the people running in the last election in my opinion. | | | |

| | ...I was only 16 last election. If I could have voted... I like to think I would have gone with Ron Paul, I was definitely a supporter, but in the end I probably would have ended up voting Mccain Palin. And now, I think that would have been a huge mistake. So I'm a bit glad :P Next time, I think I will think about it much harder, and research more, because next time it's the real deal and it counts. I am pretty sure I am going to be voting Ron Paul. Nearly positive actually... | | | | | | |

| | Initially, I supported Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama was the upstart who came along and took Hillary's chance away. I looked at the oposition and considered John McCain until I learned that he'd voted against equal pay for women. Then, he chose Sarah Palin as a running mate. At that point I reconsidered Obama and I liked what I saw. By the time I actually voted for the guy, I liked him totally and it was not a "lesser of two evils" vote. Right now, I love the guy to death and I'm more convinced every single day that I made the right choice. | | | | | | |

| | Healthcare reform is exactly what he said he would do and under the circumstances, he did a very decent job. I would have preffered a public clause but hey, Clinton, Nixon and even Teddy Roosevelt saw the need and tried for some reform unsuccessfully. Obama got the law passed. Your criticism is too vague for me to give more of an answer. Except to say that there is no such animal as a politician who does everything exactly his way when elected. Compromise is a part of the political process and good politicans understand that and go for as much as they can get through. Obama scored a home run with healthcare reform. Hopefully there will be another when he attempts to put back most of the Glass Steagall act. It was a bipartisan effort to destroy our economy by removing those regs. It should be a bipartisan effort to put the law back and save our system. Unfortunately, bipartisanship and compromise are dirty words these days. | | | |
