do calcium tablets provide calcuim or help absorb calcium?  

am lactose intolerant and i do remember that when i was unable to get a hold of calci-aid orange juice drink (it was already phased out then. it is now in tablet form) i took calcium tablets since i was pregnant and two of us need it already. i gave birth and relied on added calcium in drinks for my calcium requirements. however, i recently thought of going back to calcium tablets until i read that calcium tablets help absorb calcium. i thought they were supplements already in the first place?
