| | Hearing specialists say you lose about 10% of your hearing after listening to really loud music. Eventally this becomes permanent, so yes listening to really loud music especially using headphones causes permanent damage. | | | | | | |

| | I, too, often wonder what Im doing to my ears by vlasting my music. I love my music loud enough so that it blocks out the rest of the world and even my own thoughts but I also know that it's damaging my hearing for when Im older and even now! I've tried lowering the volume when I listen to music until it's at a comfortable level to which I wont have issues with it but I still feel as if Im hurting my ears. I wish there was some knowlegde I had of what is too damaging and what is the better situation of bolume on position of speakers vs headphones, etc for what is safest for my ears...and my guests ears. Whenever I go to a club or a dnac ethe speakers are SO loud! Same with a movie theatre! I want to turn down the volume but obviously I cant and if it was turned lower it wouldnt have the same effect at the dance nor in the theatre for some viewers/guests/entertainees. | | | | | | |

| | Well it is usually down the the High Volume. you could try and lay off the music for a few days. Then when u listen again, try it at a lower volume. I know that having music loud, especially on a nice day, is awesome, but doesnt benefit your years. Also, if you have an iPod or MP3 player, then, don't use the in-ear earphones, they are more likely to do more damage. | | | | | | |
