I bought the book entitled " The Purpose Driven Life", authored by Rick Warren, like 7 years ago after a friend told me that this is a very good book. Unfortunately i wasn't able to finish reading it. I think i landed only day 2 or 3, my bad. Last week, in my dreams i heard someone telling me to get the book and read it. So i am now up to reading it and finishing the 40 day journey.
Now, i am wondering, who of my fellow mylotters where able to finished reading the book and how was it? What were the things that you learned from this book. please share.

I have the book and I too couldn't get past the first few pages. Now though I will pick it up again and try reading it the whole thing and see what changes happen in my life. It would be interesting to see because I'm trying very hard to get my life back in a good place.

No offense to the author but I couldn't get past page 1. The book was given to me as a Christmas gift several years back but I am not miserable nor confused in my life to need such a book. I might be too judgmental considering I have not read a book but gosh, I finish novels at my own leisure. Can't read a book and wait 40 days to finish it. Sorry!

I respect your opinion, maybe one day you will have a need for it. It is entirely a different book from a novel. Thanks for sharing.

I might read it one day but I hope the need to read it doesn't come up. I heard it was about helping people know the meaning of life through spiritual guidance. As it is, I think I know my life very well, am contented and happy, and am thankful God had not given me tremendous tests I couldn't bear. My prayers almost always gradually unfold... I believe God loves me so tenderly!
