TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)  

Well, all I know is it involves electrical stimulation for pain. Either acute or chronic. however nowadays there is still no studies confirming that it is really an effective tool for pain although some proves in on arthritis and musculoskeletal pain.

I have used the device back in college,it was the most usable tool when I was doing my internship in Physical Therapy.We do usually use it to excite nerve to stimulate it to reduce both chronic & acute pain.We used it on post operative pain,osteoarthritis & musculoskeletal pain,it is also good for patients with cardiovascular disease as I have noted the changes in patients range of motion.But when I was practicing my profession already,we don't use it that much because there more new,latest technology tools & machine that we used to reduce the pain.

well, i actaully don't even know what it means, the name itself is strange, but as i read the post of the others I understood that it is something really helpful!
