Generic Drug store  

Generic brands are cheaper but the effect of medicine sometimes vary per brand.

These generic meds (or some branded) are cheaper because they are not manufactured here in the Philippines. They usually come from India where labor is cheap then they sell it in bulks here in the Philippines, giving pharmaceutical companies a huge discount.

You have to be careful though, some meds have lower dosage than what is written in its label. You could call this human error :)

yeah they are a lot cheaper than other drugstores but i dont know i dont really trust those cheap medicines... i just wanna be careful, we are talking life if we talk about medicines...

Personally I have never tried them yet. I am getting curios what is the difference between them and the regular drug stores. I think it is only in the way they sell medicines. They are specifically selling generic drugs or the unbranded ones. Well I have nothing against them but there were history that some of the drugs that are generic has some kind of low quality or sometimes being dubbed as under dose kind of medicines.

But I think these are just few cases around that are not good. I know of a good company that produces these and they produce good quality generic medicines. I think having this kind of drugstore also prevents the more known drugstore join in the competition thus having prices under control in the long run.

Yeah. I think we have to thank the government for it. Because thru it, our fellow countrymen who have less in life can have access to cheaper medicines without sacrificing its quality.

I also patronize generic brands, though they say that it came from India...well, for me, if it has the same content therefore the effect is the same. I have asked the doctors whom I consulted with if I can buy generic brands instead of the branded ones and he said yes, the contents and effects are the same. And I believe, the reason why medicines sold at big drugstores like Mercury Drug is high because of the advertising expenses incurred by the pharmaceutical companies, we must be aware that they pay much on campaign ads and celebrity endorsers, so they have to add the cost to the medicines that they are selling.
