Hamster cage smell  

We also have a hamster in the house :) But it's cage doesn't smell that much. Since our helper in the house cleans it everyday. :)

Normally, if you don't have what you are using now, it is said to clean the toilet corners every day. Did you do this? Once a week would be not often enough.

i think the best answer is just to clean out the cage more often. Pine bedding is NOT a good idea at all - it is toxic to hamsters. even if he doesn't eat any it can still cause breathing difficulties. if the smell still bothers you then place the cage in a different room.

I have have 5 hamsters and i've read a lot about them. I have read that their are beddings that can harm your hamster specially if it is made of pine. Isn't the beddings you've try didn't harm your hamster? According to the articles I've read some beddings can harm hamsters, it made for hamster to breath that will cause respiratory infection. I also experience too much odor on my hamster cage. My pet supplier told me to have a toilet area wherein my hamster goes their when they need to go for the call of nature. And i buy for them, that was so true, I clean my hamster cage every saturday or sunday. but i change the bath salt on their toilet house twice or trice a week. I think its better than to use other beddings.
