Scott Brooks Coach of the Year | | | | The votes have been counted and the results are out. Do you think Scott Brooks deserves the coach of the year plum or somebody else? Like Scott Skiles of the Milwaukee Bucks or Nate Mcmillan and his depleted Portland Trailblazers. Your thoughts =) | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | i like what the young oklahoma thunder team has achieved this year. this made it to the playoff, its first time on its young history. and there is no all-star on the team. kevin durant is only on his sophomore years. he has yet to blossom, and this season, he has become the youngest scoring leader. i think scott brooks should be credited and recognized to bring the team this far. it is unfortunate though that they are facing the defending champs, lakers. | | | | | | | | | | Life Coach School Certified in 3 Days. | | I say he deserved to win the award this year. Something strange happened to the Thunder when they mooed to OKC. They were a decent team as the Seattle Sonics, but the move and name change completely messed up up and they didn't play well in their previous season. \It was kinda like the organization forget they they weren't a true expansion team, and had a couple of great players on staff to prove it. If they failed to get into the players this year, I would have been ready to say that the Seattle fans put a hex on the organization before they left. Winning 50 games in the west is extremely impressive. Congratulations to Br. Brooks. | | | | | | | | | | Become A Life Coach $497 Become a Certified Coach in 16 hrs Guaranteed - Call 800-711-4346 FowlerWainwright.com/FreeWebinar | add comment | | | |

| | Scott Brooks really deserved the award. Brooks turned the very young and inexperienced Oklahoma City Thunder into a playoff contending team. Brooks led the Thunder to it's first ever 50-win season since leaving Seattle and during the Kevin Durant era. Though with a limited roster and revolving the team around Durant, Brooks virtually made everything to work for the Thunder. He just turned the Thunder into a lottery bound team into a perennial playoffs contender which could make the Oklahoma City Thunder a serious threat in the Western Conference. Scott Skiles and Alvin Gentry are the two names that are also buzzing in my head. Skiles have made the Milwaukee Bucks a playoffs bound team in the East who, like the Oklahoma City Thunder, have a limited roster. The Bucks revolves mostly on Andrew Bogut and rookie Brandon Jennings and midseason acquisition John Salmons. Skiles led the Bucks to a 6th place finish in the East, kinda unexpected especially when they don't have marquee player Michael Redd for most part of the season. Bogut's improvement and the unexpected surge of 10th overall pick Jennings have greatly impacted the Bucks campaign for this season and Scott Skiles should take most of the credit. Alvin Gentry on the other hand have led the Phoenix Suns to an unexpected 3rd overall finish in the West. Gentry successfully employed defense on the Suns scorching offense which made them a more potent and deadlier team. Though limited in age and depth, Gentry made the best out of what he's got. Channing Frye, Goran Dragic, Jared Dudley, Louis Amundson, and Robin Lopez have all improved this season and really complemented Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Grant Hill, and Jason Richardson. The Suns has been the most efficient offense team in the NBA since Nash returned to the team in 2004 but they've been struggling with their defense, something that they're criticized season after season. Phoenix had two very impressive runs for the 2009-2010 season, first was when they raced to the number 1 seed at the start of the season, and second, when they finished the best record after the All-Star break putting them on the 3rd overall spot. Gentry's just doing a very great job in putting the Phoenix Suns back into the playoffs radar and made them a more reputable team by playing better defense. Though it's unlikely that they'd beat the Lakers, they could go as far as the Western Conference Finals and much credit should go to Gentry. He's the mind behind the Suns' success. Nate McMillan and Larry Brown also deserves some citation. McMillan and the Portland Trail Blazers are struggling with injuries especially to their big men (Greg Oden and Joel Pryzbilla) and lately lost Brandon Roy for the playoffs. McMillan made a very great job in letting the Trail Blazers hang on and making it to the playoffs. Portland made some key deals that helped them during the season. They acquired Andre Miller during the offseason and got Marcus Camby during the course of the season to compensate for the loss of their big men. Both Miller and Camby are instrumental for the Trail Blazers especially in the playoffs. Miller scored 31 points in their game 1 upset over the Phoenix Suns while Camby grabbed 17 rebounds in their game 2 blowout loss. McMillan should be credited for such deals and Portland's success for the season. Larry Brown on the other hand led the Charlotte Bobcats to it's first ever playoffs appearance. Brown, known to be a genius in reviving teams, just like any Coach of the Year aspirants, have made the best out of what he's got. Charlotte only had Gerald Wallace as it's only player left in the roster since the team joined the NBA back in 2004 and key additions made the Bobcats a better team. Brown made the Bobcats a very well rounded defensive team which became their key in making it to the playoffs. Charlotte made deals that brought Tyson Chandler and Theo Ratliff to the team to play along defensive stalwart Wallace. Charlotte's success is primarily from Brown's genius, the same mind that brought the short handed Philadelphia 76ers to the finals back in 2001 and led the underdogs Detroit Pistons to an upset in 2004 over the powerhouse Los Angeles Lakers. | | | | | | | | | | Cheap Designer Handbags Save 20 - 70% off retail. | | Yes, the coach from the Oklahoma City Thunder deserves to be the coach of the yeear with no hesitation. After a 23-47 record as an interim head coach of the Thunder last season, Scott Brooks made some change and good coaching style that saw a very young talented team converted to a playoff team, leading the Thunder with a surprising 50-32 record. | | | | | | | | | | Psychic Reviews Top psychic networks reviewed and rated.
