Justice or forgiveness? |
| |
| Many times people want to seek revenge to those who wronged them. Christianity, along with many other religions, teaches people to forgive and forget. There are many people who hold grudges and will not forgive people. A quote that I read in a book one time said. "Who are you to not want to forgive? Do you consider yourself better than Jesus, for Jesus forgave worse sinners than your mother." Jesus, did in fact forgive all those who asked for it. It is never too late to ask for forgiveness and do the right thing. Good luck to you. =) | | | | | |

| | i liked what you said.. actually we are not greater than God... He has created us.. and we ask for forgiveness to Him.. and He is the most merciful Who forgives us.. but here in the world people forgive someone hardly by heart.. so thing to understand is that if God can forgive us then why not an ordinary person.. a Creation of God.. | | | | | | |

| | Yes, we are all creations of God, so if we are to follow after his example then people should be forgiving to others. I, for one would want to be forgiven for doing something wrong. As long as the apology is sincere I think that the one asking for for forgiveness should be forgiven. =) | | | |

| | Forgiveness is easy to be said but difficult to put in action. Its easy to forgive someone but its difficult to forget the bad things they had done to you. There are things that can be forgiven in short period of time and there are those sins which requires time to forgive. I say only time can tell when one can forgive other people for the sins they committed against him. | | | | | | |

| | I agree with you that it is very easy to say, "I am sorry." A person has to show that they mean that they're sorry by not doing the same harm again. Unfortunately, if it has been done before, there is just an equal chance that it may be done again in the future. Some people learn from their mistakes and others don't. We are all humans and human are flawed but I guess it can be argued that a person can only be forgiven so many times, so as to not take advantage of someone's forgiving nature. I agree that time can heal all things. | | | |

| | Yup, and we can never be God. We can strive to become like Him but we can never be Him. If God forgives those who sinned the worst sins and forgives them, I think the humankind in general can never forgive that easy. Its because of the "original sin" our forefathers committed when they ate that "fruit" in the garden of Eden. I just wonder if they did not ate it. What life could we have today? | | | |

| | If they did not eat it we would all be living in the Garden of Eden and we would live in paradise but not have "knowledge," because the "fruit" that Adam and Eve ate was from the Tree of Knowledge. I think we would live in ignorant bliss. Would you prefer to live in ignorant bliss or to live as you are no? It is easy for God to forgive anyone he wants to because God can do anything. It is not easy for humankind to forgive others, because we ourselves are flawed. That makes sense. =) | | | |

| | And we still be pre-historic up to this time and we may still be roaming the Earth naked. Or be doing these things over the internet. Its just my opinion and works of my imagination.lol. | | | |

| | So would you rather be doing these things over the internet or would you rather be naked and pre-historic but all the same happy? Basically we would have to throw away our intelligence in order to gain happiness. It is always a Catch-22 and there is no way to test the theory of which is better, because we cannot go back to how things were in the beginning, not without a time machine at least. | | | |

| | That's good that you strive to forgive others. I'm sure that you would want to also be forgiven if and when you make a mistake. I feel that if everyone forgave each other the world would be a better place and hatred would dramatically decrease. =) | | | |

| | Revenge is different from justice. Forgiving is easier said than done. If a person went out to kill someone you love for no valid reason, and then comes to you and asks for forgiveness, I don't think you can easily give forgiveness. Of course, it's easier to forgive someone who has paid the price for his wrong doing and learned his lesson. | | | | | | |

| | That is true. It is difficult to forgive someone who does not have remorse or did not suffer consequences for their actions. Sincerity comes with asking for forgiveness and for forgiving someone. The one who asks for forgiveness should first acknowledge what they did wrong and then ask what they can do to make everything right. | | | |

| | if God could forgive man sins., who are we in this big wide world who couldn't forgive people who committed sins from us. if God can forgive, what more us, we also forgive them. but it always depend upon the situation even you learned to forgive but if the persons who committed mistakes is very hard or evil you should seek justice for yourself for God allows the law of man so that man rights shall be protected. | | | | | | |
