A good mix of learning by the book and learning by experience is good. We need to study hard and keep our life going at the same time

The role of a student is not limited to going to school and study the lesson. One should also consider other factor in its daily encounter. We have a role to participate in social, health and financial issues. There are more real lessons in everyday from the moment we wake up in the morning till we go to sleep again. For you to enjoy your life as a whole, learn to maximize it by joining clubs, make new friends, volunteer for advocacy, or go to party once in a while ( I mean the party that is initiated by school). Don't be like anti-social, you'll get depressed especially if you are away from your family. In health, one should watch his food to eat. If you are in a tight budget, you can't eat a healthy for energy. It will impact also to your study. In financial issues, if you are student away from family, you learn to hold on to your budget and know things what to buy. As a student you can't buy all the things that you want but you should give first priority to what your needs for school. Good thing if you are a professional student that don't worry for financial needs. So basically life is a lesson itself.
The bottom line is you should know how to balance your life as a student and as you are. Enjoy it.

Although I do agree with you, the education system makes is not so. The education system here emphasize on exams because one exam could determine your whole education path. Although it is nice to develop all the other aspects, exam based education systems tend to make the students swallow whole all the facts and just regurgitate them during exams.
