Hi friend I would believe in forgiveness. To forgive a person is the worst punishment to that person. But now forgiveness wont acts in every person. Some person don't know the importance of getting forgiveness. They think they have just escaped from some punishment and not thinking that the forgiveness is the chance for them to change their mistakes and to have a thought of not repeating it again in their life knowingly. So according to me forgiveness is given to the persons only who get with their conscience and having in their mind it is really a mistake and never to repeat it again. To those who don't know the importance of forgiveness, punishment or avoiding those persons is the only solution. Have a good day.

Justice was never intended to put wrong doers behind bars. It's all about forgiving like you just said. See that if you employ the 'tooth for a tooth' philosophy, we would have been eradicated from the very face of the earth.Cause we all have fallen short of the glory of God, and have done that demeaning act(s), that we sweep under the mat and hold others accountable for. We can lash out and lash back at those that "deserve justice". But ultimately everyone would have canceled out one of his own, resulting in extinction.
Everyone has a tiff against our "neighbors", and they have one with us too if you notice. We were created as forgiving beings and live in humility. Forgiveness has a power that surpasses all others.
I know forgiving is a lame term to some who are grieving over the loss of their loved ones. But that's is where the real challenge lies.

Forgive and forget....

Please don't think that I am exaggerating here, cause I too have been subjected to a similar instance. But I must confess recuperating from the shock is time consuming. but when you see it, forgiveness does make things lighter for your heart and your ego.

In old testament there we can see the methods of punishments. people react according to the opponent's reaction. no patience and love .doing as he likes.but in the new testament Bible Jesus give new rule and theory about life. pray for you enemy and do good for their enemy. pardon others you will be pardoned.

Sometimes, emotions can't be controlled and we tend to do things out of hand. The wise thing to do here is just think for a moment what the outcome will be. Not just think of it, imagine it happening if ever you take matters into your own hands. Then snap out of it and think again if you still want to do it.

It's sometimes tempting to get even. It's easier to cut other people a little slack when we recognise our own slip ups.

I have learned from the Word of God that forgiveness is a divine character for a christian or believers to have. I have read that if a person persecute you, use you and say all manner of destructive words or acts, we should pray for them. If they are thirsty, we give them water to drink; if they are hungry, we give them food. That is meant by forgiveness and loving our enemies. It is difficult but it's the right thing to do. Following this will help us to have peace in our heart, knowing that we are letting God do the revenge for us and not us putting it in our own hands.
