Ever drop your iPhone in a toilet? |
| |
| I only had my iPhone for about a month and I accidentally dropped it into a toilet. I was cleaning an office and listening to music on it, and it fell off the holder I had attached to my pocket. Water damage is not covered by the warranty, so I had to pay for a replacement phone. They said a lot of people drop their phones into toilets. My sister said something funny. She said my iPhone does so many things, there should be a Swimming App for it, hahaha! They do sell waterproof cases. I should get one. The good thing is how everything for the phone is connected to iTunes on my computer, so when I got my new phone, all I had to do was hook it up to the computer and everything that was on my old phone got put on the new one. Has anyone else had a similar experience? | | | | | |

| | Well, I didn't have to pay the full price. I paid what they called a deposit of $199 to guarantee that they would get the replacement phone back if they fixed mine and sent it back to me. But, since mine couldn't be fixed because it was water damage, I think the $199 covered my buying the replacement phone. This was all due to the Warranty I bought. So it could have been worse if I didn't have that. | | | |

| | Oh that must have been a bad day! I don't get my iPhone anywhere near water. If I go to the restroom I leave it on the ground. I've taken it to the beach a few times but it stays in the car. I had a flip phone and I had just bought some new board shorts. I put my phone in my side pocket and dove in, the next thing I remember was forgetting my flip phone was in my pocket. I took it to the AT&T store and the guy told me to leave it on my dash (this was in Florida) and let the sun dry it out. It worked but I'm not about to try that with my iPhone! | | | | | | |

| | Someone told me if you get a phone wet, you can put it into a ziplock baggie with some rice in it, and seal it up, and the rice will absorb all the moisture. I forget if it's instant rice or regular rice though. | | | |

| | I slipped into the ocean with my iPhone in my pocket. It wasn't on a contract and didn't have an insurance so I didn't bother replacing it. Now I have an iPod Touch and am thinking of getting the iPhone 4. The good thing about this incident is that it's inspired me to do some work and forget about it. | | | | | | |
