| | im not good with computers either and mostly play games, stuff like mylot, facebook etc. so i get laptop to fit those needs. i dont do my banking or bookkeeping, pay bills online or anything like that i have an hp w/intel pentium and it suits my needs just fine i paid 549.00 at BEST BUY 7 months ago. before that i had a dell laptop i bought at wal-mart for 400.00 and it lasted 7 years before my games took up all its disc space. shop around you can find laptops from 350.00 plus ACER is a brand that will suit your needs and last for years to come, the only thing i dont like about the new laptop's is they all come thru w/ vista but im getting used to that, i do prefer XP. | | | | | | |

| | All of the specs you mentioned can handle Facebook games and applications, but as i advise, you can get the latest one so if there's a new updates your computer can support that like if there's new OS, more thinking about the future upgrades. First, I advise an Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.0 Ghz and above, plus 2gb RAM, 320 HD, you can consider also a Video card so if you plan to play Online Games. For 2 OS, you can do that also, first you you need to install Windows but most PC have already Windows bundled. Then you can install Linux on that which you can choose first what OS you want to be use during booting up. Hope this help you to decide what PC to buy. | | | | | | |

| | I second this. If possible go for DDR3. It has faster memory processing than DDR2. IMO the size of the hard drive is irrelevant to most ppl because they rarely do save anything like videos to their computer. However in my case a 320 GB HD is great. though when it comes to backing up any way you'll still want a separate hard drive. if you can go for a higher processor that would be great. but technology IMO hasn't advanced enough to get processors to not heat up so much so you'll be dealing with a hot computer depending on the maker and how well vented it is. for facebook gaming most computers can handle that hands down and with computers in the range that you are looking at that won't be a problem in the least. hard core gaming is another story you'd be looking at alienware then. i use to have linux and windows but linux didn't have a lot of software support and i didn't quite understand the OS at the time i had it so i ended up getting it taken off. it's a very nice OS though. | | | |

| | I think u should not even consider AMD!! lol =D IT's way too slow and it's not suitable for games, especially when u require flash or whatever.. OThers such as intel Core Duo, will be good though.. Of course, the higher the processor, the faster your laptop will be, and thus it wont hang while playing.. hehe ^_^ PLus, never forget the graphic cards as those are what determines the picture quality.. hehe | | | | | | |
