It is new members who START too many topics here.  

thanks .. and there are two things, which I found in your response, that are to be observed and highlighted for the mylot community.

1. that the newbies should first READ the guidelines first.

2. that you are not able to find good topics to respond to.

I would try to re-kindle your enthusiasm in the topics for responding. Sure.

You can a third one which I think a respondent below mentioned too, it is about having friends. Having friends does not only mean they would be answering your started discussion but also you can see their started discussion. When I am at home page I usually see the topics in under friend started and respond to to topics which interest me.

I hope you and others too make discussions that are fun to respond to. One discussion that would make the respondents just type freely as thoughts just rush to their minds and alas you have not noticed you typed a lot already. i too hope someday I can evoke those feelings. And most importantly discussions that would not let the respondent have an email the next minute saying "Your response was deleted because the discussion above it was deleted."

thankyou friend. I have immediately responded to the person in distress and tried to soothe him/her out of that slumber. But, as you said, i have tried to bring this to the notice of BIG people like you and the former poster.

Just like with anything it takes people some time to understand the ropes when your new to something. I am sure you were not an expert when you first began on here. If anything maybe help someone instead of complaining. Im new to this site myself. Maybe you could pass along some words of advice?

Nice hiccup! I have only been here a short while and had only one friend. Now what I try to do is make friends of people who answer my comments and when they have a new discussion that attracts me I go there as soon as I can.

THANKS again ... you cleared my hiccup. and helped gulp the mylot tough newbies. all in one go.

I just took a peek at your profile and you have 31 discussions started and 413 answered.
Thats good as it seems to be, ten to one eg: 31=310 and you have 413.

Even though Im 7000 plusm Ive posted maybe 700 odd discussions. Profile will tel.

But it makes no difference, post a discussion or make comment or do both.

Now, for the newbies part. Once you cross your 100, you are no longer a newbie, because, by then you would have learnt all the tricks and tips of the posting and commenting. Further too, you will be able to cut copy and paste, ONCE you crossed the barrier.

However, I am trying to get the attention of all alike. The new members, who rush to post new topics, mostly their referral links, of new ptc, etc.
And of the senior members, who keep themselves stuck to their friends group.

Innovate and invent. how is that?

I have to disagree here. It takes many more posts to learn the ins and outs of how myLot works, many, many more.

Copy/paste is a privilege that arrives at 500 and this leads me to believe that even myLot feel that a user needs many more than one hundred posts before they can have their license here. There are things to be learnt forever for those who are willing

This is my first post in this community. I think that people respond when they feel interest in it. From my experience I know the mysterious situation. When I joined big forums like Digitalpoint, Sitepoint then I used to respond to many threads because almost everything interested me. But later I gave up and began to post fewer replies because same sort of threads repeat over time.

I am surely no authority with social networks, but this one is nice for sure. If you get bored posting replies have you considered starting discussions? For me that is the way to go. When I come here I try to respond to my email first then PM's, starting a discussion of my own if I have something to ponder (that can get tricky as once in awhile I am doing one that has been done...and it gets deleted by MR. LOT.)

I hope that you become an active member here. It is a nice place!

You can use the tabs 'recent', 'no responses' and 'hot' to find interesting topics too though with all the friends that you have, you would also find interesting dicussions in their profiles.

the key-word 'online money making' is used mostly for advertising their own referral links of some scam sites or such other websites. as you pointed out, each and every one who start topics of this kind, try to make as much mileage as possible.

True that mylot helps in building a private army of referrals, but as you said, it is to be done in PRIVATE.

Let us add to the learning process. Don't despair friend. Cheers! !!!

Since I have been here you have been so gracious in taking your time helping me out. Believe me if I see somebody stumbling around and can help them it will be a pleasure. I do wonder sometimes when you have time to post your own discussions!

you seem to be very soft and calm in your real world too. Your words on the newbies ... that we should better let them feed out on their own are true to some extent, according to me. Because, if I err, and before the mylot admin catches me (They would anyhow catch the defaulters!) .. if some senior and experienced tells me the mistake, I would be more comfortable. And, you are right again, that the minimum thing any new comer should do is read the TOS, and guidelines.

BUT, alas. It is a fast paced world. anyhow, LOTS of thanks.

Hope we all learn fast, and abide to the guidelines. And make this a happy lot.

but, even then, why do these people go for one liners? and opinion polls? it is ok to start off a big discussion about the rudeness of one actress towards press or people, but it is not ok, if the same discussion is titles as, "do you support the press or the actress!" -- anyhow, let us not get into a new discussion here.

Like I said, I think they're just going for fast posts and fast money. Boring one-liners are easier to spit out, compared to well thought out discussions that actually make people want to respond.

thankyou. But, I agree, if there are no posts or topics that trigger the interest, but, i CANNOT agree that the other topics are just money making referral link related. YES, we all came from being newbies. But, did we not learn? TO keep posting in other topics, as also start a few good discussions? Hope all newbies read this entire topic.
